News Takeuchi double


anniversary October 2021 marked the 25th year for Takeuchi in the UK. At the same time, the company is celebrating 50-years since it launched the world’s first compact tracked 360° mini excavator, which was invented by Mr Takeuchi in 1971. Since Takeuchi began trading in the UK


in 1996, the distinctive red and grey brand has become a hire favourite. Takeuchi has built a reputation for quality, durability and


reliability with tool and plant hire companies. The double celebration marks 50 years since the world’s first compact


tracked 360° mini excavator. In 1971, Mr Akio Takeuchi introduced the TB1000 360-degree compact excavator. With an operating weight of 1000kg and a dig depth of 1800mm, the TB1000 was designed for small jobsites with restricted room to work. It still looks the business, as you can see. Since its release, Takeuchi mini excavators have evolved in size and


style, with a range of twenty models between one and15 tonnes. The 3-Series machines are the newest style of Takeuchi, which in 2020 saw the 7-tonne TB370 and this year the new TB325R has hit the hire scene.
