New Dustcontrol duo

Dustcontrol UK has paired its DC F3900 in-line pre-

separator with the DC Tromb 400 dust extractor to enable dust to be extracted and separated during floor grinding tasks. The manufacturer describes the Class-H standard Tromb (pictured) as

its most powerful cyclone-based machine to date, with an H13 filter for extracting 99.97% of airborne dust greater than 0.3 microns, including respirable crystalline silica. With up to 90% of dust being separated via the DC F3900, Dustcontrol says that the reduced loading on the filter means operators can work for longer with consistently high performance, without issues of clogging. Both machines are designed to be compact, robust and easy to

transport and move, allowing for dust extraction in hard-to-reach areas on busy construction sites.

Stihl reports that interest in its battery-powered products is growing for several reasons. The tools have fewer moving parts, making them and simpler and more cost-effective to run, as well as reducing servicing and machinery downtime. The TSA 230 cordless cut-off saw is powered by a 36V

Lithium-Ion battery, and has a 230mm-diameter cutting wheel for wet or dry cutting, to a maximum depth of 70mm. The battery can also be used with 25 other Stihl PRO cordless products. Being battery-powered, the TSA 230 gives zero emissions,

meaning it can be used indoors, in conjunction with the correct extraction systems, and helps to minimise the operator’s carbon footprint. The tool incorporates a water connection with a shut-off valve to prevent dust ingress, while magnets in the machine’s casing attract any metal filings away from the motor and battery contacts. A spindle lock button on the drive belt housing is designed to allow the cutting wheel to be fitted quickly.

Morris adds Jefferson range

Morris Site Machinery reports that, since establishing its partnership with Jefferson Professional Tools & Equipment earlier this year, it has seen considerable interest and good early sales of power tools and PPE to the hire industry. The range includes more than 1,000 product lines. Power tools available include bench grinders, a 90-litre wet

and dry vacuum, and a 40mm magnetic drill. The latter is available in both 110V and 230V versions, and can drill between 12-40mm in diameter through material up to 50mm deep, whilst its electromagnet enables use upside down. Jefferson also offers welding consumables and PPE,

from safety gloves and glasses, to ear defenders and face masks. Included in this line-up are Gecko nitrile gloves which are designed to combine heavy-duty protection and puncture resistance. They are suitable for technicians working with mineral oils and solvents, and are said to last longer than latex gloves.
