Arden Equipment

Genquip Groundhog

EHN readers already au fait with real world equipment may want to test their mettle in the newly announced ‘Awesome Earthmovers Operator Challenge’. Hosted by Awesome Earthmovers magazine and with industry sponsors including, Hyundai, Flannery Plant Hire, Thomas Plant Hire, Blue Group, Conquip, ZTL Plant Hire, and Collins Earthworks, this test of operational expertise consists of a number of timed challenges. It is apparently open to drivers of all skill levels, which might skew the results somewhat – although the organisers claim that the tests are designed to be 100% fair. The prizes on offer include goodie bags, trophies for the top five entrants and a £3000 holiday for two for the overall winner.

Plantworx is also home to the latest construction machinery, of course, with several manufacturers choosing to launch new equipment at the event. Sunward Europe, as seen at EHS earlier this year, will be debuting the SWE 155UF short tail excavator and the SWE 20FED two-tonne electric mini. The company will also show off its new SWA 16JE electric articulated boom lift. Likewise electrified, and also seen at

EHS 2023, SANY will have its nifty SY19E digger on display.

track loader, as well as Mecalac’s clever Revotruck site dumper, which will be making its UK debut. Speaking of clever, we’re excited to see the Concrete Services & Supplies Conscreed E1800 battery-enabled laser screed in the wild once again, and we will be making a hasty beeline to the Manitou stand to see its new MT625e electric telehandler.

LIFOS Fort

In the same general arena, Takeuchi will be launching the latest addition to its popular 3- Series – theTB350R short-tail swing compact excavator. This is the company's first short-tail model in the five-tonne class. The new machine has a rear swing overhand of just 75mm and it comes fitted with the Takeuchi Fleet Management system fitted as standard. Plantworx visitors will also get to gawp at the Bobcat T7X compact

Site comforts are not overlooked, with Genquip Groundhog back in action and the smart i550 welfare unit on the stand. Boss will also be debuting its patent-pending Deep Green Genfree cabin – apparently a world first, in not having a backup generator installed.

As well as the above, more solutions, services, innovations, sector personalities and shiny new construction machines than you can possibly shake a stick at, and it all adds up to a rather unmissable day or two out of the office. That’ll be our excuse, anyway. See you all at Plantworx 2023, taking place at the East of England Arena in (hopefully sunny) Peterborough on June 13-15. n
