AER Rents acquires
Hudson Lifting In the latest of its continuing purchase plans, AER Rents has acquired Hudson Lifting Ltd, an independent provider of hire, sales, service and the testing of lifting equipment. Founded by Jeff Hudson and Danny Smalldridge in 2018, Kevin Lewis also joined the team and the company has grown steadily from its base in East Tilbury. Further depots were opened in Dartford and West Drayton to support the London lifting market through its team of 23 staff. Hudson hires and sells a wide range of lifting equipment and accessories from suppliers including Tractel, Genie, George Taylor, Hi-Force, CMCO, Modulift and Tiger. Hudson also provides bespoke lifting gear solutions for one-off requirements through their in-house design team, and can conduct tests and examinations through their LEEA-qualified engineers. AER Rents and Hudson Lifting have agreed a growth plan that will
see the latter establish a UK-wide network of 12 depots over the next five years.
Meanwhile, AER Rents will continue to expand its presence in the
plant hire market through a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic growth. The group was advised by KPMG Corporate Finance & Legal Services, Dublin, with legal support from Shoosmiths in Manchester. Hudson Lifting was supported by Nelsons Law LLP, located in Nottingham and Denmark Forrester located in Heybridge, Essex. In a separate comment, Jeff Hudson said: “This is a huge opportunity to take Hudson Lifting to the next level and truly become the UK’s most significant provider of lifting equipment to hire, purchase or repair throughout the UK.’’
Stellar performer As seen at EHS 2023 earlier this year, NightSearcher certainly impressed visitors with a wide selection of lighting
products – of particular note, the new ‘StratoStar’ rechargeable tower light. Producing 115,000 Lumens and 360 degrees of lighting coverage by way of four highly configurable LED
lighting units, StratoStar is powered a 1540Wh Life Po4 lithium battery or via the included AC mains charger. The battery pack itself fits within a protective plastic case, which also allows users to select lighting mode (high, medium, low and continuous) and view battery/charging status. The StratoStar battery provides run times of between 2.5 and 12 hours, depending on mode chosen and usage.
StratoStar sits atop
an extendable tripod that can be hand- winched to 4m. Other ‘highlights’ include IP65 rating, making StratoStar suitable for indoor and outdoor use, a neat cable wrapping system, a case to store the lighting heads in when not in use and – obviously – zero noise and zero fumes.
