The Analysis Editor’s Letter

Facilitating the industry’s debate

Stephen Kiely Editor, CCRMagazine stephen@ccrmagazine.co.uk

Being the editor of a publication for the credit, collections, and enforcement industry is a real joy: it allows you to tackle some of the most important issues for our society, and brings you into contact with some of the most informed and thoughtful people who are working to address those issues. Sometimes the job also brings with it

challenges from people who do not like a particular article, either in the ideas that are expressed or the manner in which they are expressed. And, for me, that is another wonderful

part of the job. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and they are entitled to air it. So, in case it has not always been clear, I

would like to make an honest invitation to all our readers: if you do not like something that you see in an article, then let us know. It is so rewarding to know that we are making people think about the big issues, and we will always give space, where possible, for opposing views. We will not be constrained by any one way

of thinking or speaking, rather we want to promote every viewpoint, so that real progress is made. We are, after all, a publication based

own words, their experiences and opinions regarding the opportunities and challenges that they face on a daily basis.. If the industry is not prepared to have

honest conversations, and sometimes to express itself in thought-provoking ways, then we will never progress and that will be entirely to the disadvantage of the customers that creditors, collectors, and enforcement professionals serve. This is the reason why our debates are run

under our ‘amended Chatham House Rule’. This is a foundational element of all our debates that we never waiver from, because it means that we have developed a trust that people can say what they really think, as everything said within the room is private, unless they specifically say otherwise. Such trust is also the foundation for the

We are, after all, a publication based on free speech and the honest exchange of opinions, for the good of everyone. It is in everything we do, from the magazine through to Round-Table Debates

on free speech and the honest exchange of opinions, for the good of everyone. It is in everything we do, from the magazine through to Round- Table Debates, where senior professionals gather to share, in their

discussions at CCRInteractive: the Big Debate at the Grange St Paul’s, London, on 8 October. Again, where the industry can honestly share its views. Are you tired of hearing the same speeches time and again? Are you ready to gain and share the

knowledge you need in Round-Table Debates? CCRInteractive gives you the opportunities you need. l To find out more about being a part of this major Revolution in Events, contact
