KELPIE is a race and regatta winner designed by Alfred Mylne, and one of the most beautiful and fastest classic yachts of her size. At the end of the intense 2018 Mediterranean classic regatta season she notched up 1st overall in the Vintage Gaff Class at both Régates Royales - Trophée Panerai, Cannes and Les Voiles de Saint- Tropez. Only typical of the way this superb Golden Age of Yachting survivor has been cared for and campaigned under present ownership, including restorations 2009- 2012 at Fairlie Restorations - probably the last yacht worked on by the team involved in landmark rebuilds of yachts like TUIGA, THE LADY ANNE, KENTRA and MARIQUITA - KELPIE is ready to continue sailing, racing and thrilling. 49ft Johan Anker Q-Class Sloop 1925
As COTTON BLOSSON II she hit the ground running in her debut 2006 season on the Mediterranean classic yacht regatta circuit with her restoring owner America’s Cup legend Dennis Conner at the helm. And under present ownership, back to her original name, LEONORE, has won the Panerai overall twice, countless overall wins in class including wining Les Voiles de Saint Tropez in consecutive years from 2011 to 2017. When shipped to Marblehead in 1925 by her Norwegian builders Anker & Jensen, LEONORE’s design and build provenance added Scandinavian finesse to the American Universal Rule of Measurement – the same rule the larger J Class yachts were built to. At around 50 feet on deck Q-Class boats offer fun racing for a bunch of friends in boats that look gorgeous - at the dock or on the water - with performance that lives up to looks.
