Cool and stylish, fuel-efficient, excellent naval architecture plus unusually kind on the water molecules… when Pogo Structures tried something new it was never going to be ordinary

The Loxo 32 was originally designed for touring around Brittany, with its enor- mous tidal ranges, so this ability to beach the boat confidently and in safety was a key requirement from day one of the design process. Given an established reputation for building reliable production
sailing designs – and with below average depreciation – it was a logical step when Pogo dipped a toe in the small powerboat market two years ago. The latest incarnation of the Loxo 32 is quieter and even more fuel-efficient than early models, taking advantage of a refined hybrid hull that allows swift, smooth displacement motoring with an easy transition to faster semi-planing mode as required. To meet these performance goals obviously requires light con-
struction which is achieved with infused grp/foam sandwich of varying laminate thicknesses and foam densities. Of course, the default solution in the small powerboat market is cheaper solid grp construc- tion, but as well as being lighter the use of more expensive composite sandwich construction also delivers greatly reduced wave noise – pleasant ‘slap-free’ motoring in a chop and highly desirable if you are trying to get a good night’s sleep at anchor. D2-75 diesel or twin 30hp models. However, an all-electric version is also now available with either one or two Oceanvolt 15kW drives plus a hefty 53kW/h battery; the electric configuration offers a range of 44nm at 8kt or 28nm at 12kt. The diesel version attains a top speed of around 20kt, the electric Loxo 32 tops out at 14. An outboard model is under development which will offer much
