Healthcare high on the agenda at Elevate 2019


W


ith more than 300 speakers at this year's Elevate, there are a number of dedicated seminar


sessions focusing on how to create and transform buildings to encourage more activity and greater health and wellbeing. A free pass to the event, which runs


from 8-9 May at ExCeL London, gives full access to the impressive line-up of speakers as well as a chance to network in the bigger-than-ever exhibition featuring suppliers such as TVS, Gerflor, Geometrik Flooring Solutions, Ecore, Power Plate, CMS Danskin Acoustics, SIG, Certikin and Nortech. With increased investment in


health and wellbeing, facilities need to provide safe environments where guests are able to be active and independent. Exhibitors such as Power Plate offer


inclusive products for people of any age and ability to keep muscles healthy. And, for the first time, Elevate will


also feature a Moving Medicine seminar stream, created by The Faculty of Sport Exercise and Medicine (UK) in partnership with Public Health England and Sport England. This series of free-to-attend seminars


is aimed at giving practical advice and evidence on prescribing movement for those with specific needs such as

of Physiotherapists, a session entitled Love Activity, Hate Exercise? How physiotherapists are supporting people with long term conditions to become more active, will include presentations by Anna Lowe, physical activity clinical champion at Public Health England; Rachel Young, neurological physiotherapist at Sheffield Neuro Physiotherapy and an associate lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University; and Christopher Tuckett, physiotherapist and falls practitioner at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. And, with the launch of Elevate Kids


in 2019 there will be a dedicated exhibition area for suppliers offering equipment for schools and play centres, supported by ukactive Active Kids, Youth Sports Trust, BALPPA, API and the Sports & Physical Education (PE) Association UK. Chris Sharman, managing director of
