Never underestimate the power of breath and its relationship with voice. If your breathing is shallow, it may distort your speech. Breathe from the bottom of your stomach to ensure long, smooth breaths. This will help you find your natural voice when you’re under pressure. If you’re unsure, I’d suggest doing some research on breathing to help you feel calm.

local archery club I have met many like-minded, passionate people whom I would never have encountered otherwise. It makes my participation in the sport an uplifting experience that restores my energy levels. Because archery is such a focused activity, it also takes my mind off the day-to-day demands of running a start-up. In fact, I often have my best business ideas after spending a couple of hours at the range. “I shoot a recurve bow, the kind used in the Olympics. It’s very technical equipment, which needs constant fi ne- tuning. It’s amazing how much difference a small adjustment can make to the outcome. I’ve found that the same goes for my business: even though it may seem insignifi cant, a mere tweak can have a huge effect. “Archery also gets me outdoors, rain or shine. This is great for my health, as most days I’m stuck behind a desk. The weather doesn’t stop me; it simply adds to the challenge. “The only downside is that the sport can be quite expensive – but that’s added motivation for me to make some money.”
