New KTP puts IT services in the cloud


A KTP with engineering consultancy Firstco aims to help it safely virtualise infrastructure services. ‘This is an excellent means of developing both our in-house capability and strengthening ties with our academic partners at LSBU,’ says Firstco’s Mark Lazarides.


Bakery School head steps down


John Marchant of the National Bakery School is to retire after 41 years of service. John, who has led the School since 1992, has now been awarded the title of Professor Emeritus for his long and distinguished service. Turn to page 23 for a quick look back at the history of the School.


LSBU alumna appointed as bishop


The Reverend Dame Sarah Mullally, who studied at LSBU and sat on the University’s board of governors for 10 years, is to be the next Bishop of Crediton, in Devon, making her the fourth woman bishop to be appointed by the Church of England and the first in the south west.


Partnership for sporting success


LSBU’s Academy of Sport is joining forces with charity Greenhouse Sports to extend and enrich our sports programmes and help Greenhouse enhance their community sports provision. Initially, the partnership will focus on basketball.

Jamila El Azhari (MSc International Marketing, 2014), Enrica Basile (MSc Marketing Communications, 2015), Lina Ciuplyte (BA Marketing, 2015) and Christina Kunze (MSc International Marketing, 2014) all had dissertation papers accepted at this year’s European Academy of Management and Business Economics conference
