Problems with incorrect placement of embroidery!

Is this a problem for you? Jas Purba, managing director of ETC Supplies, outlines some common issues and how you can correct them.

Y

es, we have all seen it. You see a line up of employees and the embroidery is all over the place. Even worse the embroidery is not straight. This is an issue that we have seen a huge increase of awareness over the last 18 months. Either companies are new to embroidery or they are taking on new staff that do not have the skill to line up the embroidery by eye only. Companies contact us every day and ask our advice as to how to overcome these problems.

This can be a costly mistake to make as either the garments are returned to you for remake or you lose the customer for future orders. The solution to overcome this problem is to use a framing station.

The framing station is designed to hold the garment in the same place as the last order. The stations have markings on them so you can record which size garment was placed in

that position before allowing perfect repeat embroidery. The other benefit of framing stations is to line up the garment straight and to hold it in place while the frame ring is pressed into place.

Nowadays these stations are available in different size boards allowing childrenʼs garments and adult garments to benefit from correct placement.

The two most popular types of framing stations manufacturers are Hoopmaster and Durkee.

Hoopmaster made in USA

This is a station that requires a separate fixture for each size and type of frame used on it. The fixtures are made to fit each brand of frame exactly. The frame locks into position on the fixture. The fixture can be used on the main station, the portable base or freestyle arm.
