Focus on Embroidery

As AJS Embroidery Services goes on to explain, we are in the midst of a technology explosion right now and this is evidenced in the new embroidery equipment that has come to market in recent months. Much of this new technology was exhibited at P&P LIVE! for the first time in January to great reception. Read on to find out more.

AJS Embroidery Services The evolution of technology

The evolution of technology runs our lives these days. Smartphones, tablets, computers and machinery – we really canʼt function without them and our need for the latest tech to make our private and working lives easier means we are in the midst of a technology explosion right now and much of this revolutionary technology in years to come will become the norm.

With this in mind and the embroidery industry we work within the stand out technology right now is Coloreel.

This revolutionary technology to instantly colour thread as it is sewn on the embroidery machine has made the industry stop in its tracks and think of the future! The benefits of this technology are obvious such as being able to work with any brand of embroidery machine, always having the right colour, less stock on shelves and the ability to blend colours but some of the less obvious benefits such as the ecological impact on the environment and the positive implications of dying thread this way are much more far reaching.

The Coloreel system will indeed take time to evolve into the everyday way that embroiderers work but evolution in this industry is fast as we know, transferring files to machines has moved from tape to disk to memory card to USB to networking, barcoding etc. in a matter of years and sending or pulling designs from a PC or cloud database to the machine saving many hours and errors is now the norm!

Digital printing technology in all forms has evolved rapidly and now get ready for the thread printing revolution to begin.

Stocks New machine models

ZSK unveiled several new embroidery machines towards the end of 2018. For more information on these new models contact ZSKʼs sole UK distributor, Stocks.

ZSK has extended the Sprint Series with three new models – the Sprint 7, Sprint 7L and Sprint 7XL. The Sprint 6 and Sprint 6 XL are being continued as 12 needle models. All Sprint 7 models are equipped with 18 needles and servo drive systems.

The Sprint 7 machines are more efficient on longer stitch lengths compared to the Sprint 6 Series. Design starting points can now be saved in the design. A centre point can be saved in the machine and returned to after each embroidery cycle.

Another innovation is the drive system hanging from the top of the Sprint 7L and the Sprint 7XL. These two models therefore offer extended space to embroider large products like suitcases and golf bags. The embroidery fields of 400x600mm on the Sprint 7L and 400x1400mm on the Sprint 7XL, set a new benchmark and offer flexibility for the use of this machine series. The Racer 2XL is part of the Racer Series but only available as a border

frame machine. The machine has an embroidery field (per head) of 700x700mm and is equipped with 24 needle heads.

The RACER 0218 is part of the Racer Series but only avail- able as a border frame machine. The machine has an embroidery field (per head) of 550D x 700mm and is equipped with 18 needles per head. Due to the D-drive, one head is capable of producing designs of up to 1.100x700mm.
