Focus on DTG Printing

Roland DG (UK) Perfect as an introduction to DTG printing

The BT-12 is perfect as an introduction to garment personalisation, or as a secondary printing option. While many personalisation methods can have a lot of steps, the BT-12 is so simple, there’s virtually no learning curve – if you can use your standard A4 printer at home or at work, you can use the BT-12.

It uses a fool proof cartridge system with the same dimensions as the workspace in the software making setup and alignment very simple and intuitive. The device prints most effectively onto lightly coloured fabric composed of at least 50% cotton – but within those limitations, there’s a lot of scope for product customisation like baby grows, napkins, shopping bags, cushion covers – as long as it’s mainly cotton, it’s not too dark and it fits inside the cartridge, you can customise it.

As for the future, we can expect to see the personalisation experience become much more hands-on across the board – not just with DTG printing. Customers don’t just want unique products – they want the experience of creating them. Given its ease of operation, customers could design and print their own products on the BT-12 with minimal assistance.

Resolute DTG XL 500ml carts and custom twin platen launched as part of Green Button DTG system

Printing sleeves can be a pain, but with this clever addition to the Ricoh Ri 1000’s platen range, socks, sleeves and now even beanie hats can be printed with ease. When using Resolute’s new custom twin platen, printing time is cut in half with the ability to print two items in a single pass. The custom Resolute RIP that drives the Ricoh Ri 1000 allows for two of the same or different images to be printed at the same time. With an average print time of just 45 seconds for two dark beanie hats it is capable of producing in excess of 100 units per hour. The modified Ricoh Ri 1000 printer forms part of both Resolute’s Green Button DTG systems. Coupled with the Viper MAXX area specific pre-treatment machine and Resolute RIP software, the system is one of the easiest and most economical to use. The Green Button systems are already proving to be very economical to run, with the launch of new high capacity 500ml ink cartridge, ink costs will be reduced as will the amount of materials used in manufacture. All Resolute’s Green Button systems come with mainland UK delivery, installation, training, Resolute RIP software and new augmented reality support system included.
