Improved environmental protection and sustainability

GS UK is a supplier of Gunold threads – a contributor to improved environmental protection and sustainability.

Businesses dedicated to ecologically sustainable production, while maintaining embroidery processes, are on the right track using GS UK’s range of Gunold embroidery threads. For many years the main focus has been the production of eco-friendly materials and Gunold is recognised as one of the market leaders among embroidery thread producers in respect of sustainable, resource-preserving production processes.

This includes using one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in Europe, to process these threads. State-of-the art and future-oriented technologies make it possible to continue to reduce CO2 emissions and to achieve an energy effi cient production process. Heat recovery and minimisation of water consumption are also an integral part of the sustainability-oriented production process.

In addition, Gunold supplies are certifi ed to Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex. This means they have been tested for harmful substances. The Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certifi cation system for raw, semi-fi nished, and fi nished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used.

Since its introduction, the Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex contributes to high and effective product safety from a consumer’s point of view. Test criteria and limit values in many cases go far beyond applicable national and international standards. Extensive product checks and regular company on-site visits also ensure that the industry has a globally sustainable awareness of the responsible use of chemicals.
