England fans spend over £2 million on counterfeit football shirts

ngland fans have already spent more than £2 million on counterfeit Three Lions shirts ahead of Euro 2024, a report by
Bettingsites.co.uk has revealed. A report published by the website on June 6 stated that this figure is set to rise exponentially.
The report revealed that over 26,000 counterfeit shirts had already been sold on one Chinese wholesale website, as well as estimating Nike to have lost out on a minimum of £6.5m to counterfeit sites.
According to Bettingsites’ findings through Futurum Asia, counterfeit products make up 10% of Nike’s global product portfolio, and according to the site’s calculations between fake shirts
it had found to be listed and the price of authentic England shirts, Nike is estimated to have lost a minimum of £1.5m due to potential customers buying from the counterfeit market. On the official Nike website, the cost of a Men’s Dri Fit ADV Football Authentic Shirt is £124.99, with the Men’s Dri Fit Replica Shirt coming in a little cheaper at £84.99.

Mutoh Europe appoints new managing director to oversee continued growth

rank Schenk has been appointed as the new managing director of Mutoh Europe and Mutoh Deutschland. In this new role, Mr Schenk will be overseeing all sales, pre-sales, logistics, marketing, product and application support as well as after-sales support activities for Mutoh throughout the EMEA business area. Mr Schenk, who has been general manager sales for Mutoh since July 2021, will be taking over the role of managing director from Mitsuo Takatsu, who has been leading the company since 2020. sales and marketing framework and to prepare Mutoh for sustainable growth in the EMEA area. Since the summer of 2021, Mr Takatsu has been working closely with Mr Schenk to implement further enhancements and drive the change process forward. Mr Schenk said: “I am eager to continue the successful path set by Mitsuo Takatsu together with our newly formed management team and with the continued support of our experienced and dedicated Mutoh teams in Belgium and Germany. I am confident in the future business development of Mutoh in the EMEA region.”

Mr Hussain’s PayPal account had sales of £161,000 between January 2017 and August 2019, with a linked eBay account also identified with trademarked items listed having been sold. Football fans need to be careful as German laws on trademarks mean police can do spot checks on tourists and issue fines of up to £4,000 for knock-off kits.
Euro 2024 will come to a close in Berlin, Germany on July 14.
