Focus on Trophies & Engraving Trendsetting Awards
Picking the right trophies When people think of trophies, they think of a traditional cup with diamond engraved little plate.
This is far from the world of trophies today. Although many are still personalised with a small plate, an awful lot aren’t. For the last 10 years, traditional materials and traditional designs have changed somewhat. What were purely trophies for sporting events have become awards for any event. In fact, the more prestigious the event, the more prestigious the award. In some cases, the awards are actually commissioned and can even be handmade. Trendsetting Awards caters for all types of awards to fi t each budget and can be bespoke as needed. The Supremacy glass award (pictured) is a beautiful piece of optical crystal, 200mm high and 30mm deep. This piece is an ideal corporate award, as it can be personalised in many different ways.
It can be laser-engraved, sandblasted, or printed in full colour. Sandblasting and laser-engraving allow designs to be etched directly onto the surface and show through as a slightly grey fi nish.
Alternatively, the award can have a full colour print. There are many ways of adding colour, but Trendsetting Awards believes DTF looks sharp and is scratch-resistant.

Quality and versatile
Customisation expectations for trophies and awards are changing. Customers increasingly want full-colour logos, fi ne detail, and fast turnaround, without the limitations of traditional engraving or sublimation. As a result, UV DTF technology is quickly emerging as a practical and versatile solution.
Bringing a UV printing option
Unlike engraving, UV DTF allows high-resolution, full-colour designs to be applied to pre-fi nished trophies and award components without marking or cutting the surface. Designs are printed onto a specialised UV DTF fi lm and then applied directly to materials such as acrylic awards, metal plaques, glass trophies, and coated wooden bases. The fi nished result is a durable, raised print with excellent colour vibrancy and sharp edge defi nition. One recent customer case study involved a trophy business producing branded awards featuring intricate logos and gradients that would have been diffi cult, if not impossible, to engrave cleanly. By using UV DTF transfers, the customer was able to customise stock trophies quickly, reduce setup time, and eliminate the need to hold multiple blank variants.
For trophy makers and engravers, UV DTF offers greater
fl exibility, reduced waste, and the ability to produce short-run or one-off orders profi tably. It also enables businesses to expand their product ranges without investing in additional engraving equipment, making UV DTF a compelling addition to modern award production workfl ows.
