Roland DG unveils two new VersaSTUDIO compact UV and DTF printers

oland DG has introduced two new products to its VersaSTUDIO series. The BD-8, marking the debut of a flatbed UV printer in the VersaSTUDIO series, and the BY-20 featuring Roland DG’s advanced Direct-To-Film (DTF transfer) ink technology, catering to a wide spectrum of clientele within the apparel goods market.
“Our VersaSTUDIO lineup, renowned for its compact, user-friendly, and cost- effective desktop solutions encompassing inkjet printers, cutters, engravers, metal printers, and foil transfer laser decorators, continues to evolve,” stated Tony Miller, president of Roland DG’s global sales and marketing division. “The inclusion of these two pioneering products further
entrenches our commitment to providing a comprehensive range of solutions.” The BD-8 stands out as a versatile UV printer capable of high-definition direct printing on diverse shapes and materials, supporting items up to A5 size and 102mm in height. Additionally, with an optional rotary axis, it effortlessly prints on cylindrical objects like bottles and lipsticks. Compatible with EUV5 ink, it accommodates materials ranging from soft fabrics to hard surfaces like wood and plastics. The primer ink enhances adhesion for printing on glass and metal.

Coloreel appoints Lucia Eklöf as VP Customer Success

oloreel has appointed Lucia Eklöf as vice president of Customer Success to lead international expansion. Eklöf joins the company with a strong sales background and an in-depth understanding of international textile business dynamics. Prior to her role at Coloreel, Eklöf managed key accounts at Coats, a global leader in thread manufacturing, where she was responsible for a large portfolio of prominent Scandinavian apparel and footwear brands and their global operations.

Avery Dennison partners with NRVLD agency
A
very Dennison has completed a project with NRVLD, a community-based agency
comprising artists, technologists and media personalities who are passionate about disruptive innovation.
Avery Dennison created limited edition augmented reality T-shirts worn by the NRVLD Executive Team during ‘NRVLD’, an immersive event held during Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2023. The 30 T-shirts were digitally connected via heat transfers featuring a QR code and image recognition. Visitors were transported to an immersive artwork metaverse, built by Pollen Studios. In addition to the AR experience, each garment was personalised with the wearer’s contact details embedded in the NFC woven patch on the chest, providing a connection point for guests throughout the event. Both connected garment experiences were powered by Avery Dennison’s
atma.io connected product cloud.
