What’s New: Resolute
Automation and faster production is just around the corner
As most companies producing DTF will be flat out by now with the seasonal surge, Resolute is working hard to streamline the DTF process for textiles and DTF UV. With the buzz words like cobots and CNC automation being batted around, the excitement of automation and faster production is surely just around the corner!
R
esolute believes research and development is a key part to its business, being fi rst has always been an attraction in any form of business or sport, and that is where Resolute like to be. In September 2024, Resolute committed to building the fi rst UK-based research and development centre for DTF and DTS (to avoid any confusion Resolute’s DTS abbreviation stands for direct to substrate). With several high-profi le projects already on the go, Resolute will be working hard behind closed doors with some of the largest ink and machine manufacturers in the world. Faster more streamlined DTF and DTS processes are of a high priority for Resolute, to say the team are excited with the new R&D building, is a huge understatement! With plans underway for an ink lab including
labour-intensive part of the process is cutting out the transfers.

drop watcher equipment and controlled durability wash testing, the new R&D centre will allow Resolute to stress test new products commercially rather than using slower domestic appliances.
Multi-function or multi-purpose? Multi-function printers are not uncommon, many UV printers are multi-function with a whole host of attachments to cope with fl at, fl exible and cylindrical products. But how many multi-purpose printers are out there? Multi-purpose for Resolute is printing directly onto textiles with the ability to switch to regular substates or even DTF fi lm, without powder at the fl ick of a switch. It’s no secret Resolute introduced the fi rst powderless DTF system into the UK three years ago, a niche product that produces super soft prints, designed for high quality retail polyester garments. As powderless technology advances, watch this space! In 2025 there will surely be another breakthrough in this highly sought after process with faster press times, better durability and hot peel options.
Resolute R-Jet PRO DTF V4i in-line auto cut system

In-line automated transfer cutting – Yes please! The DTF process is already fast compared to most other transfer systems, but the bottle neck and most
Larger images are easy to cut with scissors, smaller chest prints however can be fi ddly and take a long time to cut and stack. Recognising this as a problem, Resolute is launching an update to its fl atbed cutter, the R-Jet PRO FB1, allowing it to be situated at the end of the DTF fi nishing unit, feeding the printed fi lm directly into the cutter automatically. The RIP software for the printer generates the cut lines, allowing it to control the cutter via a USB cable or QR code. Once the cutter is started, when the fi rst job is fi nished cutting, it feeds the next job into place using the vacuum belt and pneumatic clamps, it then locates the next cut fi le by means of a QR code scanner, and automatically starts to cut each job it fi nds consecutively with no operator interaction. The system can be programmed to wait after each job if the operator prefers, but its main advantage is to just get on with the jobs with as little interaction as possible. In order to further speed up the process, the cut transfers can be left attached to the main carrier sheet by a programmable set of small tabs. This allows the operator to pick up the logos in one action negating the need to pick up individual transfers which would also waste time. The sheets can be transported to the heat press area in one go saving a huge amount of time picking and stacking. In this example, there are over 250 logos that can be picked up in a single action ready to be heat pressed. Later in 2025 Resolute is hoping to incorporate a robotic arm to remove and stack the transfer sheets, this will be especially useful for jobs where large volumes of sheets are involved.
