pre-prime the garment, the Ri4000 does this in-line automatically for all garments.

P&P LIVE! 2025 Review And finally

Over on the Stahls’ UK stand, visitors were able to see the Hotronix ProPlace IQ in action. With its cutting-edge projection alignment system, compatible with all clear carrier transfers, this innovative piece of technology ensures perfect design placement every time, saving heat-print businesses approximately 86 working days annually.

Amaya Sales UK was busy showcasing the capabilities of Epson’s SureColor F-Series range of direct to garment printers. The range includes the new SC-F1000 entry-level DTG printer which is of desktop size. The next level up is the SC-F2200 which is Epson’s popular mid-level machine with average print speed of 86 seconds for an A3 dark shirt, and production capacity up to 10,000 prints a month. The industrial SC-F3000 gives very high-speed production capable of up to 100,000 prints per month, and unique nozzle verification technology on the print head for consistent high-quality prints every time. All the above Epson printers are hybrid and can produce DTF sheets as well as DTG prints for both white and dark garments. Amaya’s aim for 2025 is to put DTG back on the map as an important garment decoration process alongside DTF.

UV printing

Recent advancements in this field of garment decoration have seen printers released into the market which now incorporate UV LED technology. This enhancement has improved energy efficiency, and because this process typically uses less ink than traditional printing methods it is considered an environmentally friendly alternative.

On the Amaya Sales UK stand, visitors could witness the Roland DG VersaOBJECT MO-180 UV-LED printer. As a new addition to the VersaOBJECT series, this printer is capable of high-resolution direct printing on a variety of 3D objects. The use of two newly developed large print heads arranged in a staggered arrangement, UV-LED lamps that are three times more powerful than the previous model, and dot control technology optimisd for high-speed ejection has achieved productivity of 1.9m sq/hr in standard mode. It promises to be a popular addition to the range, bridging the gap between entry-level and fast UV production.

Two UV LED flatbed printers from ColDesi took centre stage on the YES Group stand – the UV 300H3F and the UV 500H3F. The UV 500H3F has a spacious printing area of 1200x1600mm, compared to the UV 300H3F’s print area of 900x600mm. Both flatbed printers are ideal for creating bespoke signage, promotional products and custom designs on materials like wood, glass and acrylic. Both feature an intuitive interface and minimal setup time. The UV LED curing technology delivers vibrant, long-lasting prints. Further UV LED printers were showcased by other exhibitors around the exhibition, as this technology continues to integrate itself seamlessly into the garment and promotional product decoration world.

The Hotronix ProPlace IQ’s standout feature is transfer projection alignment, which eliminates the guesswork, reduces manual adjustments and significantly deceases placement errors. By streamlining this crucial step, operators can focus on maximising prints and reducing errors. Manage high-volume production with the Hotronix ProPlace IQ, allows users to maintain consistency and quality.

Receiving its official UK and European launch on the EXILE Technologies stand was the SPYDER X. The SPYDER X builds on the market leading SPYDER II and SPYDER III models which now boast over 50 installations in the UK. The SPYDER X is a major redesign that amalgamates the best elements of the SPYDER II and SPYDER III.

It uses a new drum-less design which makes it much easier to support multiple screen frame sizes and speeds up the loading and unloading of screens. Unlike direct exposure solutions, the SPYDER X images onto any type of emulsion, without compromising imaging speed, in under a minute for a typical T shirt screen.

EXILE also showcased the TECHSETTER 4, a new 24in wide, high speed, thermal film imagesetter for producing high quality film positives and negatives for flexo, screen and other specialist print applications.

One piece of equipment catching everyone’s eye at the show was the HD hat and scarf knitting machine. This highspeed machine makes personalised knitted hats and scarves to bespoke requirements. Each hat and scarf can be made using 14 colours.

This is just a quick overview of the various bits of garment decoration equipment that were launched, debuted and demonstrated live at Printwear & Promotion LIVE! in February. It really is great to see the manufacturers and suppliers come out in force and continue to use the exhibition as the place to introduce their cutting-edge equipment and solutions to the market.
