Kingly showcases sustainability in the Arctic Circle with new adventure series A

new adventure series titled ‘Kingly Beyond the Arctic Circle’ has been launched by Kingly to demonstrate the durability and versatility of eco-friendly textiles in extreme conditions. Illustrator Boryana Ivanova, the creative force behind Kingly’s books ‘101 Uses of a Kingly Sock’ and ‘101 Uses of Reclaimed Denim’, embarked on a daring expedition to Svalbard, with Kingly sponsoring her journey by providing sustainable, multifunctional gear. In the depths of the Arctic

eco-friendly textiles became essential survival tools.

Printing Charity holds 16th Rising Star Awards and entries are now open

E

ntries for the Printing Charity’s Rising Star Awards can now be submitted as the competition has

officially opened.

It is the 16th year the event has been held and is an excellent opportunity for anyone between 18 and 30 working in the print industry to win £1,500 to help fund training and development within their career space.

Last year, courses taken by winners were widely varied and have helped build additional skills and techniques to boost confidence within leadership and management.

Printing Charity CEO, Neil Lovell,

said: “The Rising Stars is our flagship programme to work towards this, as well as being a fantastic way to celebrate and champion the range of exceptional rising stars within it.

“Looking at the range of roles held by last year’s winners, and the diversity of development opportunities they applied for to support them in those roles, it’s clear that print has opportunities for everyone, whatever their background or skillsets, to shine in a career within it.” Rising Star grants are for training and development that sit outside role-specific training, which will be provided by employers.

Throughout her journey, Ms Ivanova found creative ways to repurpose Kingly products, using socks as thermos insulators, hand warmers, and protective storage for delicate photo equipment. Her Arctic adventure showcased how sustainability and functionality go hand in hand – even in the most extreme environments. This collaboration aligns seamlessly with Kingly’s mission to reduce waste, repurpose materials, and develop innovative, low-impact solutions.

R The 2024 winners

ussell Europe has introduced tan to its Authentics Classic T for men, while natural has been added to the Authentic Sweats range. Tan is a warm, natural beige tone. The shade harmonises beautifully with classic colours such as black, navy and white, but also adds fashionable accents when paired with expressive colours. The colour natural is a soft pastel in a light cream tone that radiates freshness and elegance. The warm tone stands for naturalness and can be combined with almost any colour, making it a stylish choice for any outfit.

The Russell Authentics collection is ideal for customisation and offers the perfect blank canvas for almost every type of textile finishing.
