Park Word

Hello everyone. Don’t worry – I’m not going to mention the weather.

So, how are you? Good! Glad to hear it. And the family? Excellent (or not – please delete as necessary).

Anyway, that’s the end of the interactive section of the Editor’s Welcome; let me instead tell you about the pages you hold, or the screen you’re staring at. Rather than detail everything in the issue, I just want to highlight three specific articles this month that I think you’ll find particularly interesting.

First up is Tom Anstey’s column, which this month takes an in-depth look at Legoland Shanghai (something that gets A LOT of love this issue!). As China continues to develop into a global powerhouse in themed entertainment, this marks not just another milestone for Merlin Entertainments, but a symbol of the broader transformation sweeping across China’s theme park landscape.

Next up I’d like to direct you to Owen Ralph’s report on Toverland - a family-owned Dutch theme park, which has a strong focus on seasonal events, and also has plans for a holiday resort.

And, before I set you free on the issue, I’d also like to point you in the direction of North America Editor, Susan Storey’s review of Wild Oasis at Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay. Not only because it’s very interesting but because it also features a photo of a Capybara (same family as the guinea pig, don’t you know) and a photo of an anteater (related to the submarine). One of those facts will win you a pub quiz, the other is untrue and will get you a punch in the face. Especially if you tell it to an anteater. Anyway… words done. Enjoy!
