Request a free trial and find out why.

he Edge Foundation’s Career Footsteps programme supports schools to host careers events where volunteer professionals talk directly to students in the classroom about their job, the learning pathway that got them there and share their experience. Volunteers are from a range of backgrounds, disciplines and sectors giving students insight into apprenticeships, in-work training, degree apprenticeships and university options. Whether speed networking, talks, mock interviews or workshops, we can tailor events to meet the needs of all schools and colleges from primary upwards, including SEN schools and secure centres.

he latest addition to the Gratnells ever- growing product portfolio, the all-terrain Rover trolley, has been placed on trial with the Vale of Aylesbury Athletics Club (VoAAC). Established in1893, VoAAC train from their base at Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire – a venue known as the ‘home of wheelchair sport’ and the ‘birthplace of the Paralympic Games’.

The Rover trolley, designed to carry heavy loads across challenging terrain, from equipment store to competition arena or training ground, had to meet the challenge of being shared between training groups with multiple equipment requirements, across a large venue. Compatible with all Gratnells tray sizes in a variety of combinations, it made getting heavy

and awkward or small equipment out to the required arena easy, proving ideal for transferring heavy shot puts, hammers and discus out to the throwing circles.

It was found to be extremely stable whether unloaded and unattended, partially loaded or fully loaded. Coaches especially liked the securable aspect to the trays. While some of the implements are small, they can be heavy, so securable trays were ideal. The trays coped with a variety of sports equipment of different size and weight without issues or sustaining any damage, and the robust trolley became such a well-known feature at the track it is now being used to house the club’s first aid kit on training nights. It coped well with all surfaces, was easy to handle and manoeuvre and was used with ease

by all. It performed well when having to navigate over the raised track rail that runs around the track, being easy to pull over it and without any danger of losing its load.

A coach at the Vale of Aylesbury Athletics Club summed up the Rover trolley’s performance as “the best kit addition at the track in a long time”.
