EDUCATION SHOW EXHIBITORS

KCS is looking forward to meeting and sharing knowledge and tips with education professionals and parents at the Education Show in March

O

ur team of experts will be on hand for the entire event, demonstrating a range of products designed to inspire children in the classroom, including soft and messy play items and furniture. Visitors will be invited to examine new curriculum and learning items, sensory and tactile equipment.

As well as supplying all the stationery, furniture and equipment a school requires at everyday low prices, we also provide teachers with free advice on ways to deliver inspiring and memorable lessons. Curriculum Advisor Jade Sekmen, a former primary school teacher, is attending, and has drawn on her practical experience and knowledge to devise an innovative programme of resources for our Curriculum Community. This has been developed as a free, national resource for schools, offering advice, support and downloadable guides. We’ll also be developing the community into a forum where teachers from across the UK and beyond can share ideas and best practice.

As well as our teaching experts, specialists from the Professional Services team will also be available to explain our role as a trusted partner when it comes to getting the best value and avoiding the pitfalls when negotiating contracts, leasing and financing agreements for high-value school essentials, such as photocopiers, audio-visual and IT equipment.

With so much to talk about, make sure to visit us at the NEC and find out how KCS can help bring your school to life.

NATIONAL MEMORIAL ARBORETUM exhibiting at The Education Show

T

he National Memorial Arboretum, in Staffordshire, will be exhibiting at The Education Show at the NEC, Birmingham from 15 to 17 March. Over 350 memorials commemorating individuals and groups that have served, suffered and sacrificed on behalf of our country are nestled amongst almost 30,000 trees covering the free-to- enter site. A dedicated learning team is available to facilitate group visits from schools and other learning groups, with a variety of programmes and packages available. Visitors to the Arboretum’s stand number J77 will be able to find out more about the dedicated learning facilities housed within the Arboretum’s Remembrance Centre, featuring a spacious welcome orientation area, classrooms and a large exhibition space dedicated to the interpretation of Remembrance. A permanent exhibition, Landscapes of Life, encourages interaction, with a virtual floor of leaves which change into poppies, audio-visual displays, databases, and a memory booth where people can leave messages of Remembrance for storage in our archive.

The Arboretum’s learning offering includes activities for KS1 to KS5 that can be incorporated into history, geography, English, art, RE, or PHSCE schemes of work. Bespoke programmes can also be configured to accommodate the particular needs of groups and familiarisation visits are free of charge.

School children make up around 15,000 of the Arboretum’s annual visitors; this is expected to grow to 25,000 over the next few years thanks to the new learning space with larger classrooms and dedicated facilities for educational visitors. The site’s Professional Learning Team utilises the Arboretum’s living and memorial assets to generate a greater understanding of Remembrance in an enjoyable and engaging way.
