ROUND UP DELTA SECURITY DELT A

fter a long wait, theMinister for Skills, AnneMiltonMP, has unveiled the much anticipated careers strategy; if nothing else it highlights the need for careers guidance and the longer term value of meaningful interactions with employers for young people.

Recent research by the Education and Employers Task Force shows that every employer engagement activity that young people found helpful can add to their future salary.

The Edge Foundation’s

Career Footsteps programme supports schools to host careers events where

volunteers who have pursued a technical or professional education route talk about their job, the learning

pathway that got them there and share their experience and insight with the students. The programme gives students an insight into a range of careers and the alternative routes such as apprentices ps and in work training available to them.
