helped us avoid many of the supply problems that other companies face. That’s the reason why we plan to launch more lines that we can fully control. The last such line, which is already in operation, is for glass production. Of course, this doesn’t mean that we want our production


to be 100% in-house, but we still aim to manufacture the bulk of the most important components for our machines.


CI: Is it part of a broader plan to produce as much of your own materials as you can? You have invested heavily in improving your production side, can you tell us more about this investment and the impact it has had on the company? What does it mean for your customers? VD: In-house production of the most components means a shorter production time for the machines themselves. This is essential for our customers, who highly appreciate the speed with which we deliver our products to them. In addition, in this way we have minimized the influence of


external factors on our production cycle, that means that all our products are of equally good quality. This is of utmost importance to both our customers and ourselves. Over the years we have developed our own standards for high quality, which we apply to everything we produce. Only then we are 100% sure to provide our customers and partners with the premium products we guarantee them to receive.


CI: You recently launched a sports betting terminal - what markets is this for? Do you see this as being a key area of growth potentially? VD: Yes, that’s right. This next-generation self-service betting terminal is an innovative solution for the industry with its ultra-responsive touchscreen and the high security standards, which provide players with captivating betting experience. One of its biggest advantages for the operators is that it is a ready-to-use online casino solution which requires a short implementation time. For the moment, it has great potential for development on the Balkans. We plan it to be among the important business verticals of EGT Digital.


CI: This year EGT is celebrating 20 years in business (congratulations!); what are the biggest changes the company has seen in that time – both internally, and to the industry in general? VD: Thank you for the congratulations! 20 years is a long period of time during which EGT has witnessed many changes and went through different stages of its development both good, and difficult ones. As a result, we have grown in all verticals, starting with the products, going through the markets and reaching the most valuable asset of any company – the people, its employees. And here we are today: a major player in the global gaming business with offices in 28 countries on 5 continents, and our products and services are synonymous with top quality in over 100 jurisdictions worldwide. Founded in 2002 in Sofia by several enthusiastic young people with great passion for work, today in 2022 EGT is proud to have an international team of over 2,500 employees and their number is constantly growing. The gaming industry itself also had its ups and downs


during these two decades, primarily related to the two global crises: the global financial crisis of 2008-2011 and that related to the COVID pandemic, which put it to a serious test. Nevertheless the sector withstood the difficulties and I


would say that to date the industry has recovered and is developing at a good speed.


CI: What does the next 20 years hold, do you think - again, both for EGT and for the wider industry? VD: Our plans for the next 20 years are focused on preserving our sustainable growth as we continue to create innovative and attractive gaming products for different groups of players. To achieve this goal, we will endeavour to stay true to EGT’s philosophy to always look a step forward into the future. Our products and services are already presented in over


100 jurisdictions worldwide but we don’t want to stop here, we would like to expand our presence in even more markets. One of the markets with greatest potential for us is Asia. Our developments which are already well-known there are very well accepted and in the coming years we are planning to open several offices on the continent. The first countries where we will do that are the Philippines and Singapore. We also intend to continue developing at the same pace in the IGaming sector, whose role in the future will become more and more important. This is related to my expectations for the industry as a whole. I believe that interesting decades are following, during which any company that wants to be ahead of the curve and to offer modern and competitive product solutions will have to seriously develop VR and digital gaming.
