PERU Gobierno promulga la Ley de juegos y apuestas deportivas online


En un comunicado oficial con fecha 12 de agosto, el Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo - MINCETUR, anunció que el gobierno del presidente Pedro Castillo había promulgado hoy la Ley que regula la explotación de los juegos y apuestas deportivas a distancia, lo cual permitirá que esta actividad, que genera un gran movimiento económico, ahora también pague impuestos. La promulgación de la Ley del juego online peruana se llevó a cabo en una ceremonia en Palacio de Gobierno, con la presencia del ministro de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, Roberto Sánchez; así como del ministro de Salud, Jorge López; el ministro de Educación, Rosendo Serna; la ministra de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables, Diana Miloslavich; además de congresistas y dignatarios relacionados con la industria del juego nacional. El jefe de Estado afirmó que esta autógrafa fue posible gracias al


trabajo coordinado entre el Gobierno y el Congreso de la República, pues, “con esta ley se va a beneficiar al Perú, de un lado permitirá al Estado tener más recursos para cumplir sus obligaciones en materia económica y social, lo que redundará en mejores condiciones de vida para la población. De otro lado, porque representa un paso importante hacia la formalización de actividades que hasta hoy funcionaban sin regulación ni fiscalización, y al mismo tiempo convocando, a las empresas peruanas y extranjeras a invertir responsablemente, a registrarse en el Perú y pagar los impuestos que correspondan”.


Otros aspectos de la Ley


El ministro Roberto Sánchez explicó que esta actividad debía ser regulada porque nadie debe generar actividad sin tributar. Además, se debe proteger a los sectores vulnerables de la población mediante controles de acceso de menores de edad y ejecución de políticas de juego responsable. También se debe evitar que la actividad sea empleada para actos de delitos informáticos, fraudes y otros ilícitos.


PERU President signs Online Sports Games and Betting Law


In an official statement on August 12, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism - MINCETUR - announced that the government of President Pedro Castillo had signed and approved the Law that regulates the exploitation of games and sports betting at distance – effectively online gambling. This activity, which generates great economic movement transfers in the country, is now finally enabled to pay taxes. Signing of the Law by President Castillo was carried out in a


ceremony at the Government Palace and had the attendance of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez; the Minister of Health, Jorge López; the Minister of Education, Rosendo Serna; the Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations, Diana Miloslavich; as well as legislators and other dignitaries. Peru’s Head of State said that the law was made possible thanks


to the coordinated work between the Government and the Congress of the Republic. He added: “The approval of this law is a clear example that when the Executive and the Legislative work hand in hand, when we put the interests of the country first, when we prioritize the agenda that the population needs, we can promote growth and development for the benefit of all citizens. That is the task that the Peruvian people have given us and, in this line, we must continue to comply until 2026, to the end of the mandate of this country.”


More about the Law


Minister Roberto Sánchez explained that the online activity had to be regulated because no one should engage in a commercial activity without paying tax. In addition, vulnerable sectors of the population must be protected by law through access controls for minors and the implementation of responsible gambling policies. Additionally, the law would avoid the activity being used for acts of computer crimes, fraud and other illicit acts.
