THE BIG INTERVIEW

Latin American markets have always been very

important for SIQ and once approved for a jurisdiction, we are serving it with all regulated technologies. Colombia has been the leader in the Latin American online sector, but we are happy to see more and more development also in other markets, such as Peru, Panama, and Argentina. Of course, we are closely monitoring the developments in Brazil. We are developing our services for any emerging jurisdiction globally and will continue to do so.

RCM: Now, away from Gaming, SIQ has built its reputation testing for Electrical Engineering, Environment, Energy, Automotive, IT, Manufacturing, Chemical,

Pharmaceutics, Fuel, Financial, as well as the medical sector. Do you plan expansion in any of such sectors? GREGOR SCHOSS: Yes, away from gaming to our other product conformity assessment and certification activities. SIQ has actively participated as a national certification body and testing laboratory in several multilateral recognition arrangements for almost 30 years, namely in IECEE/CB Scheme set up within the system for testing and certification of safety and electromagnetic compatibility of electrical equipment under the International Electrotechnical Commission, in IECEx Scheme for testing and certification of electrical equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, and in CCA under the European Committee for Electrotechnical standardization CENELEC. SIQ is also a signatory to mutual recognition arrangements on the use of commonly agreed European marks ENEC and CCA EMC of conformity to standards. We have a status of a Notified Body under nine European Directives and one Regulation. As an internationally recognized credible conformity

assessment body we issue all our partners from various industry sectors a kind of a passport to place and sale their product on the global market. To follow the demands of our customers, we are planning to expand in particularly all growing sectors, such as automotive and medical. We are expecting to grow also in the traditional IT and appliance sectors

where we already are a global leader. We believe that our customers see our main advantage in the wide range of comprehensive tests we offer, and with the introduction of new technologies, we are also planning to expand within the new portfolio of testing in the fields of EMC and radio equipment and functional safety.

RCM: Last but not least, is the question on training and recruiting, and as we are aware about the reputable seminars and workshops that SIQ organizes in Slovenia. Do you have plans to take any such programme overseas, the US or Latin America, perhaps?

GREGOR SCHOSS: Indeed, our training programs are well known in Slovenia. We have developed 170 different training programs so far and per year, we manage to hold more than 400 training events in Slovenia only. Our training department cooperates with well-known

foreign organizations to hold licensed training in Slovenia. We offer licensed EFQM training and certified CIS training in information security. Many of our training programs are internationally recognized, and the participants get an IQNet international certificate. During the pandemic developed online courses were

very well accepted by our customers. Now, we are gradually developing targeted on-line training programs for foreign markets. We have already held online training seminars for non-European organizations studying the legislation and rules for placing medical devices on the EU market, and for EU organizations wanting to place their medical devices on the US market. We are developing training programs also for the automotive industry in Serbia and Croatia, and new online courses in English. In the future, our goal is to offer comprehensive

training solutions in management systems, e.g., quality management, information security and food safety management systems, management systems in production of medical devices or for automotive industry, lean production, Industry 4.0, laboratories. These training programs and materials will be in English and held online, so accessible worldwide.
