RAK Ceramics raised more than £17,000 for Rowans Hospice in inagural charity golf day


P


etersfield, UK, Seventy Two Players participated in 18 Holes of Golf at the Warwickshire Golf & Country Golf on 25th July to raise money to support palliative and end of life care for people across Portsmouth & South East Hampshire. The first golf day, held by the global ceramic’s manufacturer, based in Frenchman’s Road, raised £17,246.34 for The Rowans Hospice. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and with great weather it was an opportunity to raise much needed funds for the charity. As well as the golf tournament, teams were invited to a formal dinner, which included networking and an auction.


The Hospice, now in it’s 25th year, is celebrating their ‘Silver Jubilee year’ and now with multiple locations in Petersfield has been RAK Ceramics chosen charity since 2016.


Kbsa welcomes four new members


T


he Kbsa continues to grow its membership, with two more retailers, one corporate and one foundation member joining this month.


The latest new retail members include A1 Interiors based in Grantham, Nottinghamshire and Riverside Kitchens based in Elgin, Morayshire. The new corporate member is Inspire KBB based at Birmingham Business Park, Birmingham and the foundation member, Glengarry Kitchens is based in Glasgow.


Jordan Whitworth from A1 Interiors said, "We have been trading for 3 years and as we have grown, so has our requirement for quality business services and support in a challenging retail environment. “After researching the various bodies the only one which ticked our boxes was the Kbsa. It is designed to support independent businesses such as ours with terms and conditions, finance options and most importantly customer peace of mind.”


“We are delighted to welcome these new members to the Kbsa,” says National Account Manager Allister Reed. “We are continuing our drive to recruit specialist, independent retailers, between them they can uphold the Kbsa values of professionalism, customer service and excellence in design.


“We remain committed to delivering value to our members and encouraging more retailers to join us and enjoy the benefits of being part of an association that is relevant and supportive.”


Alvin Biggs, Managing Director of RAK Ceramics, highlighted ‘It is fantastic to raise money for a such a great charity. The staff at RAK Ceramics over the years have been very good at getting behind the Charity, jumping out of planes, dance marathons, midnight walks, and half marathons have all been done to raise money and I am extremely proud of all the staff that have taken part.

Every item of our care must be funded through fundraising and every penny we raise really makes a difference to the lives of our patients and families’


RAK Ceramics are committed to supporting the work that The Rowans Hospice do in the local community and have already set a date of the 23rd July 2020 to hold their second golf day.
