Colour Revolution Colour in Contrast I

t is easy to understand why White and Ivory kitchens have been topping the popularity polls for so long. They are ‘safe’ neutral colours which won’t date and provide the ideal base with which to accessorise bolder, more vibrant shades. Whilst they are destined to remain top sellers for the foreseeable future, the past few years have also seen additional earthy tones, such as olives, beiges and more than 50 shades of grey steadily creeping in.

Comment by Dave Mayer Sales and Marketing Director, Reginox

In contrast with the citrus lime, bright orange and pillar box red kitchens, which, whilst fantastic, have proved to be a ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ fashion trend, these earthy tones are looking like they may well be here to stay. This is because they seem to be hitting the spot in terms of being neither overly radical, nor overly safe, therefore widening the choice for homeowners looking to introduce ‘colour with longevity’ into the kitchen.

The more adventurous homeowners are also introducing vibrant colours as accent shades, chosen to perfectly complement a neutral base, whilst allowing the kitchen to be personalised. This may mean adding a bright standout colour to a run of units, an island, a worksurface, a splashback or even a sink and tap, immediately drawing attention

and creating a real statement. With the growth of the combined kitchen/living area, accent colours are also being cleverly used to break up these two zones whilst still ensuring an overall cohesive look and feel.

There’s no doubt that consumers are certainly becoming more confident in their use of colour and, to my mind, that’s a good thing. Whites and Ivories will undoubtedly remain exceedingly popular but the new ‘coloured neutrals’ in combination with bolder accent shades, go a long way towards brightening up Britain’s many rainy days!

Reginox leads the market with coloured stainless steel sinks R

eginox’s unique new RegiColor collection of coloured stainless sinks represents a first for the sinks industry and has been introduced following many years of research and development by Reginox’s Holland-based factory.

RegiColor offers the perfect blend of colour combined with the slimline profile of stainless steel and is set to revolutionise the future of sinks. It offers all the benefits of steel, such as longevity, ease of maintenance and a low profile, yet features the colour and high-end sleek appearance associated with granite. The range has been launched initially in three stock colours – Arctic White, Midnight Sky and Sahara Sand – but can be

produced to any bespoke colour on special request with a six to eight week leadtime. Dave Mayer, Reginox’s Sales and Marketing Director, comments, “The introduction of RegiColor is opening up new sink possibilities for homeowners who, until now, have always had to choose between the slim profile offered by stainless steel or, if colour was preferable, the deeper profile that comes with granite. With RegiColor that compromise no longer needs to be made as it offers the best of both worlds. With a luxury metallic, pearlescent finish, achieved through an advanced manufacturing technique, the material looks and feels more like granite and, with its ability to be produced to any bespoke colour, the opportunities are limitless.

Reginox’s new RegiColor sinks are available in five different shapes and sizes, each of which features an on-trend angular design softened by gentle curves. The material, which comes with a five year guarantee, is manufactured from high grade coated stainless steel and has been extensively tested for chemical and abrasion resistance. RegiColour’s installation versatility is also an appealing factor as all sinks in the range can be integrated, semi-integrated or undermounted, depending on which look which best suits the kitchen.
