Comfort, luxury and convenience at the heart of bathroom design

their homes comfortable places to be, with the bathroom at the top of the list. In times of uncertainty and change, the bathroom is seen as a place of sanctuary and relaxation and this is reflected in the trends coming through. The bathroom has shifted from practical to

luxurious – a word that often denotes high-end but in today’s modern home really refers to the level of comfort and relaxation. A statement bath or washbasin will be focal points, but bathroom design today is much more focused on, it’s more to do with the bathroom experience as a whole and how the finished space make people feel. Designed far less around passing trends and

ince the pandemic, consumers have turned their full attention to making

home pampering, comfort and a sense of wellness. For fixtures such as baths, basins and WCs this has resulted in a resurgence in curves – we’re moving away from the strong geometrical lines that have been such a big part of the minimal bathroom, towards something a little softer. Colour is being used much more in the

bathroom too, particularly in terms of sophisticated soft pastel shades and, matt black and timeless grey. We’re seeing this on baths, basins and WCs, certainly with the latest additions to the RAK Ceramics portfolio. An all-white bathroom still has its place, of course, but as the bathroom becomes an extension of our living spaces, the introduction of soft colours takes away the clinical feeling and adds personality. From a design perspective this trend is ideal for creativity, with colourful accents scaled up or down for a tailored approach depending on the setting.

Small on space, even bigger on style with RAK-Petit additions R

AK-Petit, the designer bathroom collection from RAK Ceramics

created with compact spaces in mind now offers even more opportunity to add luxury with new washbasin additions. Transforming this practical area of the

bathroom into a stylish focal point, the RAK-Petit Round and Squared Countertop washbasins are the perfect addition to the en-suite or small bathroom. Standing at 340cm tall, the design of the new washbasins is inspired by the larger floorstanding models in the collection. Beautifully crafted from high quality ceramic, the

countertop washbasins tap into the trends for curves and geometric lines in the bathroom. Minimal, elegant and functional, the washbasins are ideal for pairing with RAK-Petit Round and Square brassware to complete the picture. Created for RAK Ceramics by renowned Italian

designer Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà, RAK-Petit is a collection of small washbasins designed with small spaces in mind. With minimal shapes and small dimensions, the collection includes deep- based washbasins that can be installed alone or combined with RAK-Joy vanity units.
