at this challenging time, Häfele UK has collated data from 2,000 homeowners across Great Britain and Northern Ireland to get a true picture of what consumers want from their space in the future. Through Kitchens for Living: A Picture of the UK, we aim to give customers actionable insight to help drive sales and marketing activity. Our research found that most British

homeowners expect to change their kitchen before 2028. Those serving Yorkshire and Humber have the biggest opportunity, where this figure is just over four and a half years. Updating the style of their current kitchen is people’s biggest driver for change, followed closely by a desire to improve their home’s value. Not enough storage was a close third (25%), but posed a particular
issue in the West Midlands where it was just two points behind style at 29%. Accessibility and making their kitchen more
appropriate for an aging family was key to 15% of respondents in the East of England – almost five times higher than the rest of the UK. Meanwhile, flexibility and multi-functionality was a standout reason for change for those in Scotland, with 10% citing it as their reason for upgrading. A desire to be more eco-friendly was important to 13% of Londoners and 14% of Mancunians. For style and cabinetry colours, a modern and
sleek aesthetic was sought by 44% with white, light grey, beige and natural wood chosen as the most popular neutrals. When asked about their most desired accessories, homeowners selected concealed bins and recycling stations most frequently (39%), with boiling water taps (37%) and larders (36%) also making the top three items people don’t currently have but would like.
Häfele launches decorative handles brochure to support showroom sales
H
äfele has further strengthened its sales support for KBB retailers, with
the launch of its new Decorative Handles Collection brochure. Designed for showrooms to use as an inspiring visual guide with customers in the market for mid-range plus kitchens, the brochure
brings together the manufacturer and distributor’s top-performing handles in one place. Available via the Häfele website, the new
brochure condenses the company’s range of 2,000 high quality handles into 18 stunning collections of its most popular products, many of
which are available exclusively from Häfele. Options include Graf, a contemporary textured mesh-like handle available across knob, bar and t- knob varieties in black, brushed dark brass and stainless steel effects; as well as Crawford, the perfect accompaniment to country-style kitchens and shaker doors featured in Golden Champagne and Oil Rubbed Bronze. To inspire customers, each handle collection is
paired with aspirational room set photography to demonstrate how the hardware can complement and enhance a range of cabinetry styles. At the back of the brochure, Häfele has also created an at-a-glance guide for every collection, enabling customers to compare options with ease.
