Innovation and growth in a dynamic market
BKU’s Matt Broughton caught up with Phil Beddoe, General Manager for UK &
N.Europe - Titus UK.
“
024 proved to be a landmark year for us at Titus,” explains Phil. “It was marked by significant product launches and a strong market presence despite broader economic uncertainties. Participating in major industry trade shows like KBB Birmingham and SICAM gave us excellent opportunities to showcase our innovations and engage directly with our customers.” The year was defined by the company’s focus on expanding its product range to meet evolving market needs. New launches, including the technically advanced T-type PressTo and T-type 170 hinges with integrated damping, received exceptional feedback from the industry. Titus also introduced Push Latch S2 latches, new Slimline+ Tacto drawers, and innovative solutions like PushPlus for pocket doors.

“Throughout 2024, we observed continued resilience in the home improvement sector, with consumers maintaining their investment in quality kitchen and bathroom solutions. One notable trend that particularly caught our attention was the increasing demand for premium hardware that combines aesthetics with functionality. We’ve seen a clear shift towards products that offer both superior performance and design flexibility, with customers especially interested in solutions that enhance the end-user experience while streamlining installation processes. “Looking ahead to 2025, our sole purpose centres on delivering value-driven solutions across the entire product lifecycle. With household budgets remaining tight and manufacturers facing many pressures, we’re focusing on developing products that enhance overall competitiveness while ensuring fit for purpose.” According to Phil, Titus’ priority for 2025 is expanding its range of integrated damping solutions. There is a growing demand for
sophisticated soft-closing mechanisms in all furniture applications, from kitchen cabinets to sliding wardrobe doors. Titus’ in-house engineering expertise in damper technology positions the company uniquely to lead innovation in this area.
2025
“We anticipate several key trends gaining momentum in 2025. There’s an increasing focus on flexible solutions that can adapt to both small-batch custom furniture production and high-volume standardised manufacturing. Additionally, we’re seeing greater interest in hardware solutions that contribute to furniture longevity and sustainability.
“Speaking of sustainability, for us it isn’t just about the materials and energy we use – it’s about creating products that last longer, perform better and contribute to reducing furniture waste through superior durability and functionality. Our engineering focus on longevity and consistent performance directly supports these sustainability goals.”
Looking at the broader market landscape, Phil sees significant opportunities in the growing demand for premium kitchen and bathroom fittings that provide superior dampening, smooth actuation, and extended durability. “Our continued investment in production capabilities and innovation provides a strong foundation for meeting these evolving market needs.” Phil is particularly excited about several new developments in Titus’ pipeline for 2025. “Our focus remains steadfast on helping manufacturers improve efficiencies and deliver premium experiences to end-users. The kitchen and bathroom sector continues to evolve, and we’re committed to staying at the forefront of these changes through continuous innovation and customer engagement.
“What encourages me is how our relationships with manufacturers have evolved beyond simple supplier-customer dynamics. We’re increasingly seen as partners in innovation, working collaboratively to solve design and production challenges. This approach has proven especially valuable in the kitchen and bathroom sector, where demands can be particularly high. Our technical team’s ability to work closely with manufacturers during the development phase has led to some exciting custom solutions that have subsequently become standard offerings. “One aspect of our business that I’m especially proud of is our commitment to research and development. While 2024 saw us launch several innovative products, what excites me more is what we have in development. We’ve significantly expanded our testing capabilities and engineering team, allowing us to accelerate our product development cycle while maintaining our high standards for quality and reliability. This investment in R&D, combined with our close customer relationships, puts us in an excellent position to respond quickly to emerging market trends and customer needs in 2025 and beyond.”
