Ideal Bathrooms – the benefits of a business website

While e-commerce was one of the big winners of the pandemic, in the bathroom industry, the move to online ordering continues to be slow. The Ideal Bathrooms Industry Report 2020, undertaken in partnership

with BKU, found that nearly 60 per cent of respondents made none of their sales online. However, it will be interesting to revisit this as effects of the pandemic continue to be felt. The primary benefit of a business website, according to 69 per cent of

respondents, was to portray a professional company appearance, with 62 per cent also saying it was to promote their company or business. The next most popular benefit was to showcase the product range,

followed by generating leads, showcasing testimonials and case studies, and remaining competitive. Just 37 per cent of respondents said they used their website to take online orders – how will that figure change over the next 12 months?

TTA Awards 2022 about to open for entry

T

TA is pleased to announce that entries for the 2022 Awards are about to open. The TTA Awards are the

annual national awards scheme for the tiling industry, recognising personal achievement, innovation, the best new products and the most impressive projects. There are 16 categories that you can enter, so all those who think they

might wish to enter the Awards this year are encouraged to visit the Awards website for more information at www.ttaawards.com. The Awards are a great opportunity to obtain recognition for your achievements in tiling. For 2022 the Awards will culminate on 24 June at a gala Awards night and celebration to be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. The Awards event will also see the return of The Tiling Show which will

be held at the same venue earlier in the day. Prior to Covid this had grown to be the most important tiling show for the UK market and will be well worth attending or exhibiting at. TTA is delighted that, at the time of going to press, six major brands

from the tiling sector have signed up as Gold Sponsors of the Awards. They are Banks & Lloyd, N&C, Palace Chemicals Ltd, UltraTile, JACKOBOARD® and Mapei. These brands have all expressed their support for the values of the TTA Awards and their support makes possible the Awards themselves and the work of TTA during the year. They are now set to benefit from the heavyweight media exposure associated with the awards. One of the most eagerly awaited categories is the Best Domestic

Project category, won this year by Craven Dunnill & Co Ltd. This project comprised a stunning domestic renovation in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Craven Dunnill was appointed to supply the wall and floor tiles by interior design consultants Cream & Black for the refurb, which included hallways and stairways and the reconfiguration of a basement with three ensuite bathrooms, home gym and wellness spa, relaxation and shower areas and the refurbishment of an indoor swimming pool surround. The external terrace incorporated 20mm porcelain tiles, bespoke planter cappings and step edgings to create a stunning space for entertaining and relaxing.
