INDUSTRY UPDATE UWLA welcomes new MD THE IPG Supporting Independents


he Unified Water Label Association, (UWLA) has welcomed a new MD, following the retirement of Yvonne Orgill on 31 March 2025. Lee Cartwright joined the UWLA on 10 March and was with the UWLA team at ISH in Frankfurt last month to meet with members and supporters attending the show.

Lee says, “I am thrilled about this new role and looking forward to building on Yvonne’s legacy. During her time in the industry Yvonne has become well recognised as a strong leader and influencer, and I am passionate about driving forward continued growth and future success for the organisation.

The Unified Water Label is delighted to announce a partnership with water efficiency experts Save Water Save Money to introduce UWLA’s GetWaterSmart Directory and complementary GetWaterSmart tool. The Directory is the first of its kind in the UK and across Europe, creating a level playing field for manufacturers to promote their exclusively certified water efficient products to end consumers – on a single website. At the same time, the UWLA GetWaterFit tool helps people understand how and where they use water in the home, and what simple actions – including product recommendations featured on the Directory – they can take, in order to reduce their cold and hot water use, and their utility bills. The IPG – Why Supporting Charities Matters – More Than Ever


t The IPG, giving back isn’t just a nice idea – it’s something we genuinely care about. Supporting charities and making a meaningful difference is part of who we are. Each year, we get behind causes that matter to us and take part in fundraising that goes beyond the workplace. In 2023, we proudly sponsored the Sewa UK Rickshaw Run, where 36 teams travelled over 2,000km across India in rickshaws, raising a huge £700,979. The funds went toward refurbishing a dental unit in Chitrakoot, India – a facility offering free cleft and palate surgeries to those in need. It’s the kind of impact that truly changes lives.

While “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR) is still a relevant concept, it’s increasingly being shaped by the broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework – which places emphasis on measurable, long-term impact and sustainability. Whether you call it CSR, ESG, or just doing the right thing, we believe in taking action that makes a difference. This year, we also launched our partnership with Royal Voluntary Service, supporting vulnerable people in local communities. The fundraising efforts from our network have already made a real impact. Beyond that, we’re proud to support eight other charities, including Unicef, World Vision, Chestnut Tree House, RNLI, Oxfam, WaterAid, Centrepoint, and Sightsavers – all working to improve lives in the UK and around the world.


We believe businesses can be a force for good. And when we come together with purpose, the difference we make extends far beyond the bottom line – it reaches lives, communities, and futures.
