Tim Hutchinson, Divisional Manager at Liebherr UK talks to BKU’s Matt Broughton about plans for 2025 and beyond.
he first quarter of 2025 has been a positive one for Liebherr, despite tough trading conditions. “We remain committed to enhancing our product offerings, deepening customer relationships, and continuing to develop our industry leading range of energy-efficient appliances,” explains Liebherr UK’s Divisional Manager, Tim Hutchinson. “One of our main activities for this quarter has been the launch of our new under counter appliances; an expanded range of 22 new fridge, freezer and wine fridge models. “ The overarching goal for Liebherr in 2025 is to continue to lead in innovation, particularly in the areas of freshness preservation and energy efficiency. “We want to set new benchmarks in sustainable design, while maintaining the premium quality and reliability that Liebherr is known for,” explains Tim. “In 2025, we’re excited to be expanding our range of eco-friendly appliances, and to grow our A-rated offering. This growth includes the launch of our new ICBa 5123 model that will be coming to market this May, which is the world’s first fully integrated fridge-freezer in energy efficiency class A. This is a significant milestone for not only Liebherr but the industry, setting a new standard for what it means to create energy efficient appliances.”

Innovation is key in this sector, and Liebherr is proud to be continuously pushing the envelope in freshness innovation, energy efficiency and design – even in the smallest of spaces. Tim explains: “Last year, we introduced our next generation of under counter appliances; an expanded range of 29 models that were the industry’s first under counter fridges and freezers with a class C energy efficiency rating. As an evolution of this, and to further expand on consumer demand for smaller, integrated kitchen appliances, we have launched a further 22 new models this March, all boasting an energy rating of A-C. Available in various heights and model sizes, offering a height range of 82-88cm and now with the taller option of 86-92cm, the new under counter appliances offer the highest degree of flexibility in kitchen planning with new models of fridges, freezers and wine fridges.”

“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Liebherr,” says Tim. “The white goods sector is notoriously guilty of facilitating over consumption. “We also understand that freshness technology that minimises food waste is essential, and so we have invested heavily into product innovation to continue delivering freshness solutions, such as BioFresh, which remains popular with customers. BioFresh technology keeps food at temperature just above 0° C and with the perfect humidity level. Or look to HydroBreeze, a fine,
cold mist that covers fruit and vegetables like a protective balm, ensuring crisp freshness and improved structure.”
