Trends are an integral part of the architectural and interior design world, feeding into and influencing the specification choices you make, as well as helping ensure the built environment is meeting modern expectations. Whether it be design or functionality, it’s important that you are up to speed with how the industry is evolving. Q) What are some of the key flooring trends in the market? There has been a shift away from traditional grey tones, with trending colour palettes beginning to ‘warm up’. This is making way for colours such as ‘greige’, a playful blend of grey and beige, creating more natural, stone effect tile decors. Warmer woodgrain tones, such as honey, are also back. This is part of a long-term trend

that we’re seeing, where homeowners are looking to make their interiors inviting, cosier and almost cocoon like. We’re seeing homes become more than just a functional space, with well-being becoming a bigger priority, as seen through the changing colour trends on the market. Supporting this is a move away from rustic designs incorporating wood knots and cracks in laminate flooring, with the Scandinavian feel of simplistic linear woodgrains dominating the flooring market. Real wood is starting to be phased out for more cost-effective solutions, this change is encouraging a shift towards more realistic and tactile laminate designs. Matt products are also more desirable, further enhancing the realism and durability trends seen today.
