Event | Review Paul Hughes from Sign Making Tools presenting vinyl wrapping demonstrations

The Sign Maker’s Workshop saw experienced sign

maker, Paul Hughes, run differing live demonstrations of basic application of vinyls to vehicle liveries to application challenges.

And bringing a touch of the traditional Perry Eales, and his team at Perry Signs London, created hand-painted and written signs on their stand in real time.

FEEDBACK FROM EXHIBITORS Albeit slightly smaller than last year, many of the exhibitors said that they had a good show and reached the goals they had set for themselves. Colin Sinclair McDermott, aka The Online Print Coach, said: “It was a pleasure to be part of Sign & Digital UK this year. It was a good opportunity to network with existing clients and forge new contacts, both on the exhibition floor and at the various events held alongside the show. “The show also provided a vital platform to increase our profile through the Knowledge Centre and the BSGA Sign Makers Village. Taking part in panel discussions and presentations allowed us to tackle the real commercial issues facing sign business owners and feedback from the attendees was very positive.”

In a joint stand with Metamark, Rudolfo Marrero

Jr., export sales manager at Siser, said: “It’s been amazing, especially, as it’s the first time that we do a show together with Metamark. “The first day, the numbers absolutely blew us out of

the water, the reception from the crowd was amazing. Congratulations to you guys for putting on a great show.” It wasn’t just the exhibitors that were praising Sign & Digital UK, it was also the visitors.

VISITORS PRAISE SDUK

More than 6,000 people attended both P&P LIVE! and SDUK, so to get a feel of what visitors thought of the show, the team at Sign Update asked visitors their views.

Neil Lovell, CEO of The Printing Charity was one of the first to comment and praised the differing exhibitoirs the show had to offer.

He said: “The sheer range of things here has been great. The whole show is like walking through a supermarket, it is quite amazing. “The show is a real eye opener and asks the question of what technology is needed in the future.” Also complementing the show was first time attendee, Daniella Camastra, owner of Filthy Chilli, said: “The show has been super successful for us. We’ve already got things in mind that we want to buy and people who we want to talk to for next year. “So it’s a yearly process for us that we’ll definitely be back for.” However, the show also lent a practicality to some visitors, as Clare Scammell, owner of GKs Graphics, mentioned she brought items from a stand that she didn’t realise was there. She said: “I just brought my vehicle outline for this year, which I’ve been meaning to do and didn’t realise

he was here – and I got a cheeky discount so that’s great too.”

“With the show, I feel it’s more about the networking. Chatting to Linda at the British Sign and Graphics Association, was really handy and it was really nice to have a conversation with another female in the industry. Even just that conversation alone, has made my time here worth it.” But that wasn’t all as Sign & Digital UK had an exciting soft launch from Metamark.

EYE-CATCHING NEW LAUNCH AT SIGN & DIGITAL UK Displayed on a stunning McLaren supercar, Metamark previewed its new MetaCast MDC XR premium cast printable wrap film to Sign & Digital Uk visitors. Made in Europe by Metamark, MDC XR was introduced to visitors on Metamark’s busy show stand throughout the event as professionals demonstrated the film’s distinguishing qualities live. MDC XR has been developed with installers in mind, as vehicle wrapping remains one of the most technically demanding disciplines in the sign and graphic industry. The film incorporates Metamark’s new MetaGlide XR adhesive system, embodying novel adhesive technology designed to make positioning, repositioning, and application easier for installers. The adhesive offers effortless repositionability during installation, allowing graphics to be lifted and refitted without compromising material or adhesive integrity. For installers working across compound curves, recesses and demanding body panels, this type of controlled repositioning capability is essential for achieving premium quality results. Following the preview at Sign & Digital UK in

February, the MetaCast MDC XR was officially launched on March 13, 2026.
