Building blocks for stove design

Contura has introduced the MyCube, a confi gurable wood burning stove system designed to allow diff erent layouts and appearances. Customers can combine various components, including top sections, log stores, side window panels and a choice of cast iron or glass doors. The stove is available in black

For heating and cooling

Expanding its renewable heating technology range, Alpha has launched the Magis M Top, a monobloc air source heat pump for new build and retrofi t residential properties. The Magis M Top provides

heating, cooling and domestic hot water and can achieve fl ow temperatures of up to 75°C. Using advanced inverter technology, the system regulates its output in line with real-time demand. This ensures maximum performance while minimising electricity consumption, especially during milder weather when full output isn’t required. As a result, end users benefi t from improved seasonal

Exhaust air heat pump enhancement

The QE modular exhaust air heat pump from Qvantum has been enhanced to reduce the system’s lower leaving water temperature range from 18°C to 14°C. Available in 4 and 6kW

capacities, the QE is designed for new-build and retrofi t applications where low-temperature heating, hot water, ventilation and cooling need to be delivered from a compact system. By reducing the lower leaving water temperature to 14°C,

effi ciency and reduced running costs. The air source heat pump uses a

natural refrigerant gas R290, which has high thermal effi ciency and a very low global warming potential, making it an eco-friendly choice compared to conventional synthetic refrigerants. “The Magis M Top gives

installers a genuinely capable heat pump. It’s designed to perform across a wide range of homes and heating setups, and to make the installer’s job as straightforward as possible. That’s the Alpha approach,” says Darran Smith, technical manager, Alpha. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/83

or soapstone fi nishes and can be installed as a freestanding or wall-mounted unit. It has an ‘A’

effi ciency rating, a heat output of 5-9kW and can accommodate optional heat-retaining Powerstones. According to Contura,

the MyCube meets Ecodesign requirements and is approved for use in Smoke Control Areas. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/84

Undersink water fi lter

The Kingfi sher from Doulton Water Filters is a new under- sink system developed using the company’s ceramic fi ltration technology. It provides a discreet installation while simplifying maintenance and fi tting. Supplied with WRAS-approved

fi ttings and tubing, the system incorporates a patented auto shut-off valve that allows fi lters to be cleaned or replaced without turning off the water supply. The Kingfi sher also uses the independently certifi ed

Biotect Ultra fi lter, which can reduce up to 99.99% of common contaminants. The Kingfi sher system

has undergone accelerated lifetime testing equivalent to up to ten years of use, providing assurance that it not only delivers exceptional water quality but is also optimised for long-term performance. Manufactured in Staff ordshire,

the system has NSF International certifi cation and WRAS approval. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/85

Bold new look with all the benefi ts

New to the Stelrad Radiators line-up is an Italian-designed new look – part of its Column radiators portfolio – in both vertical and horizontal column radiator ranges. The new range is available through

the system gives developers and designers greater fl exibility when developing strategies to reduce

overheating risk under Building Regulation Part O. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/86

Raising the bar for condensate handling

A new condensate lifting system has been introduced by Wilo UK for use with condensing boilers and air conditioning systems where condensate discharge is below the backfl ow level. The NovaCON is a compact, plug-and-play unit

designed to manage condensate removal in situations where gravity drainage is not possible. The system has been developed to provide a practical solution for both residential and light commercial applications. Key features include an

integrated fl oat switch and a built-in non-return valve, which contributes to safe and reliable operation. The unit has been designed for quick installation and quiet running, with the option of either fl oor or wall mounting depending on site requirements. A volt-free

connection for alarm systems is also included. The NovaCON is suitable for a wide range of

condensing boilers. In addition to a standard condensate drain outlet, the system also provides the option of connecting to a boiler pressure relief valve, off ering greater fl exibility than is typically available with conventional condensate pumps. Its launch expands Wilo’s portfolio of products for heating, cooling and water management applications, which also includes circulation pumps, pressure boosting systems and wastewater solutions. Wilo’s Andy Thompson says: “Our focus remains on delivering effi ciency-fi rst technologies, not only in terms of energy usage but also through fast and

simple installation and long-term durability.”

all existing outlets, streamlining the existing range, enhancing the performance of the Column radiator selection, and strengthening long- term value for purchasers of the range. The most obvious changes are to

the design of the radiators that will now feature a new rounded column design. The streamlined model range features 54 horizontal radiators and four vertical options with heights between 300mm and 2,000mm and lengths from 348mm to 1,866mm. They also benefi t from an increased warranty – signifi cantly extended from the current fi ve years to fi fteen years. The new radiators operate up to

a maximum pressure of 10 bar, but tested to 13 bar, and will come in eco- friendly biodegradable packaging. The radiators come with ‘automotive grade’ paint fi nishes for superior corrosion resistance and off er proven heat output and performance consistency. All other core specifi cations

remain consistent, including colours – available in Traffi c White and Anthracite Grey from stock – the steel thickness, certifi cations and stock availability. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/88
