Street elbow simplifi es MLCP pipe

Make leak-free connections

The Buteline system is designed to deliver speed, simplicity and long-term reliability for plumbing, central heating and underfl oor heating installations. Suitable for hot and cold potable water, chilled water and UFH applications, it is WRAS-approved and uses a single pipe type across all systems, simplifying specifi cation and reducing stock requirements. Installers benefi t from a fl exible,

easy-to-handle pipe that requires no de-burring, while off cuts from UFH installations can be reused for plumbing applications, minimising waste. The system can be crimped using either a hand tool or press gun, with a post-clamp fl are on the annealed aluminium

collar providing a clear visual confi rmation that the joint has been completed correctly. Slimline, one-piece fi ttings

contain no O-rings, grab rings or inserts, reducing the risk of installation errors and helping to ensure reliable, leak-free performance. Every Buteline plumbing joint is maintenance- free, highly robust and backed by a 25-year guarantee. The range also includes

transition fi ttings for connection to copper and push-fi t systems, plus pre-insulated red and blue pipe options in sizes from 10mm to 28mm, all achieving a Euroclass B fi re rating. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/69

Fränkische has expanded its alpex MLCP (multi-layer composite pipe) range with the launch of a street elbow for MLCP systems. The patented fi tting eliminates the need for an additional fi tting and short length of pipe to create an off set or change in direction, helping to simplify installations and reduce labour and material costs. Designed in response to

installer demand, the new street

elbow also enables more compact pipework layouts, typically reducing space requirements by around 30%. This makes it particularly benefi cial in confi ned areas where minimising the footprint of pipework can

really make a diff erence. When combined with the

inherent benefi ts of MLCP – including copper-equivalent fl ow rates and resistance to corrosion – the fi tting provides a practical and effi cient system solution. The fl exibility of MLCP pipe further reduces the need for directional fi ttings, supporting faster installation and improved system effi ciency. Matt Densham from Fränkische

says: “By removing the need for an additional fi tting and a short length of pipe to achieve the same off set or change in direction, installers can reduce job complexity, potentially saving both labour and material costs.” ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/70

Growing demand for pre-insulated pipework with drinking water approval has led REHAU to expand its range with the launch of Rauvitherm DW. Designed for underground heat distribution

applications where drinking water approval is required, the system combines a Rautitan SDR 7.4 carrier pipe with crosslinked polyethylene foam insulation and a corrugated polyethylene outer jacket. The carrier pipe holds KIWA KUKreg4 Level +1 approval, making it suitable for drinking water applications. Rauvitherm DW also utilises Rautitan RX+ fi ttings

The new system has been developed in

response to increasing requests from installers for a fl exible pre-insulated pipe solution that

meets drinking water requirements while supporting the delivery of modern heat networks. The system has been designed to support installation in both residential and commercial district heating schemes requiring potable water compatibility. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/71
