PHAM NEWS | JULY/AUGUST 2026 Product News 35 New heat pump avoids complications

Designed for installers looking for a no-nonsense way into heat pumps, the GeniaAir is the latest product launch from Glow-worm. By listening to installer feedback and cutting through the noise, the ambition behind GeniaAir was to create a system that’s easy to install and simple to commission - for those new to heat pump technology or seasoned pros looking to add a reliable option to their toolkit. The new GeniaAir heat pump forms part of the

brand’s complementary low carbon heating system solution, featuring a new Glow-worm HydraCyl cylinder range in sizes from 150 litres to 250 litres, plus compatible MiPro controls. It is also backed by an enhanced guarantee through the myREWARDS loyalty programme. The heat pump is available in three outputs – 5,

7 and 11kW – thereby providing flexibility across a wide variety of property types. With a relatively light weight of 84 and 133kg, the GeniaAir units are also easier to lift and move around on site. Other features of note include a Flexible Space Function (FSF) - once activated, it means the unit only needs a small protection zone, giving flexibility when it comes to choosing where to fit the unit around a property near windows and doors.

Self-learning energy control system

James Fowler, marketing & strategy director at

Glow-worm, comments: “We’ve built GeniaAir on one principle: keep it simple. Installers don’t need more faff, they need products that work. From installers who know and trust the Glow-worm brand to those wanting to make their way in heat pumps or those looking to expand their heat pump offering, all need a product that keeps selection and installation trouble-free and reliable.” ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/72

On the energy list

Responding to the shift towards proof-based specification, Dimplex has announced that its Edel hot water heat pump is now listed on the UK government-backed Energy Technology List (ETL) - currently the only dedicated hot water heat pump to achieve inclusion. The Edel unit features a compact, self-contained

design, enabling installation in space-constrained settings, without being an extra burden on the system. The listing confirms the range (170, 200 and

270-litre models) meets strict energy performance criteria, helping to reduce risk and supporting long- term energy and carbon targets. David Patrick, head of specification marketing at

Dimplex, says: “Low-carbon solutions now need to be proven in real-world conditions, not just on paper and that’s where technologies like Edel are making a difference. As the industry moves towards higher performance standards and greater electrification, having that level of confidence in specification will only become more important.” ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/73

Lifetime warranty for peace of mind

With the aim of building confidence across the low-carbon heating market, Ideal Heating has launched a lifetime warranty for its heat pumps. Available exclusively on the company’s Logic Air heat pumps, when installed alongside an Ideal cylinder and Halo Air controls, the new proposition combines annual servicing, ongoing warranty and manufacturer support. Homeowners will be able to

sign up within six months of installation through a monthly subscription of £22.50, or an annual payment of £270, giving them access to ongoing technical throughout the life of their heating system. Installers who prefer to retain

the servicing relationship themselves can continue to do so through Ideal Heating’s Extended

Warranty options, ensuring they remain in control of their customer relationships while benefiting from the reassurance of manufacturer-backed support. CEO Adam Foy comments: “We

wanted to redefine what long- term ownership of a heat pump should look like. That’s why

Lifetime Warranty is about much more than repairing a product if something goes wrong. It’s about ongoing care, expert support and giving installers and homeowners confidence throughout the lifetime of the system.” ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/74

Extending its product range in the UK, Instantor has launched a new underfloor heating range. Options include seven systems designed to suit a variety of requirements, including screed and solid floor installations, overlay and retrofit applications, and suspended floors. In addition, there is a choice of two pipe systems –

PEX-AL-PEX and PERT-EVOH-PERT – both of which come with a 50-year guarantee, wired and wireless programmable and smart thermostatic controls, sensors and wiring centres, manifolds, mixing valves, pumps and accessories. The range will be supported by the company’s

technical support and customer service, as well as a free design and specification service, including installation-ready designs and heat loss calculations. Product manager Jim Stafford explains: “Our

expansion into the underfloor heating market was a natural progression and, as with all of our products, the new UFH portfolio has been designed for installers by installers to offer easy-to-fit solutions and assured reliability.” ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/76

Claimed to set new standards for price-performance ratio, ease of installation and servicing, the new Vitocal 200-A ie (intelligent energy) air-to-water heat pump from Viessmann can be intelligently networked and managed through a central control unit via the company’s ViCare app. Offering the prospect of a complete energy system,

whether a homeowner starts with a heat pump, solar panels or an EV charger, every component is designed to work with the next – so the system can be holistically built up over time, at the homeowner’s convenience and as budgets allow, without fear of incompatibility of products or controls. The One Base Intelligence platform is self-learning,

continuously adjusting energy flows across connected components for optimal performance, while software updates ensure the system stays current and gains new functions over time. All key information is displayed clearly in the ViCare app, from the heat pump’s consumption and individual room control to energy management opportunities. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/726/75
