Futurebuild 2024 will bring together influential innovators and collaborators to tackle the big issues on the road to net zero, showcasing the ideas behind achieving a better built environment.
N
ow in its 18th year, the Futurebuild exhibition and conference aims to promote a better built environment by
showcasing fresh ideas, inspirational innovations, and productive collaboration. The event attracts a diverse range of professionals from across the supply chain, including energy managers, planners, urban designers, housebuilders, developers, consultants, contractors, and manufacturers. The show returns to ExCeL London
from 5th-7th March, offering visitors an extensive exhibition of manufacturers and suppliers as well as a lively conference and seminar programme. These elements come together around the continuing mission of taking action on climate change and achieving a sustainable built environment.
Exhibition The show is structured around an exhibition of over 400 manufacturers, suppliers, and industry bodies from around the world, bringing visitors a perspective on advancements in sustainable construction and the emerging technologies that will make net zero possible. New exhibitors for 2024 include Danosa, Saint-Gobain Ecophon, FRAMECAD, and O’Reilly Precast. Also returning this year are Aico, Viessmann, Bosch, and Aco Technologies, amongst others.
Knowledge programme Alongside the exhibition, Futurebuild boasts a leading Knowledge

Programme of 500+ industry-leading speakers across eight stages. The conference puts the industry’s most pressing problems at the forefront of the sustainability conversation, helping to spark debate and formulate solutions to problems. Key themes will be delivered by industry partners from a wide range of disciplines who are passionate about instigating change. Some highlights to look out for
include: ‘Industrialising Retrofit: improving the process of net zero heat upgrades to buildings’ - curated by DESNZ, Innovate UK and Carbon Trust; ‘Energy efficiency standards: Are we going far enough?’ - curated by Good Homes Alliance; and ‘How can the UK’s largest cities become hubs of innovation, driving growth and widespread renewal?’ - curated by the Connected Places Catapult.
Retrofi t remit The National Retrofit Conference, held in partnership with The Retrofit Academy and taking place alongside Futurebuild 2024, is an event focused
on decarbonising existing housing stock. It will consist of a three-day programme to examine in detail how to deliver retrofits across the UK at the scale needed, from policy to practical delivery. The line-up of speakers includes a
collaboration of government ministers and senior policy makers, key leaders from cities and regions, and thought leaders from inside and outside of the sector, that share the collective mission to decarbonise UK housing stock. The conference will provide the
practical solutions that attendees can take away to drive their retrofit programmes. DAY 1: 'Retrofit Policy, Programmes
and Leadership' will include sessions focusing on the retrofit policy vision, led by industry leaders, who have been invited to create a conference
Embracing innovation As the industry platform for innovation, Futurebuild has continued to partner with forward-thinking brands. The Future X section, sponsored by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Carbon Trust and Innovate UK, is an exciting zone that showcases start- ups and SMEs’ innovative ideas and technologies that will make net zero possible.
The Big Innovation Pitch also
returns this year and will highlight the newest and brightest solutions to built environment challenges in a presentation battle, taking place in front of a live audience. And once again Futurebuild has
partnered with major brands, known as Innovation Partners, to showcase their latest technologies, products and services. Visitors can follow the Innovation Trail across the show floor to see these select Innovation Partners. The Trail will give visitors the opportunity to explore new products, solutions and materials and meet the leading thinkers behind innovations that will influence the future.
Recognising excellence The Retrofit Academy Awards are designed to recognise excellence in retrofitting across the market; from retrofit coordinators, to installers, social housing and local authority delivery programmes, to individual projects – recognising the rising stars in this exciting, vibrant market, at a crucially important time for our industry.

Tuesday 5 March from 6pm on the National Retrofit Conference stage.
