LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY

Luceo Slim illuminates Pernod Ricard’s Marseille headquarters

Luceo Slim LED pendant lights from TRILUX have been installed in Pernod Ricard’s new headquarters at the Marseille Docks. The lighting installation covers 8,000m2 of office space and features sleek black Luceo Slim fixtures. The Marseille Docks, known for their

historical and contemporary elements, were chosen as the location for Pernod Ricard’s corporate hub. With their large glare-free light emission surface, the Luceo Slim lights seamlessly integrate with the historic ambiance of the docks, creating a unique atmosphere throughout the building.

The lighting design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also incorporates sustainability features. The luminaires are networked with the LiveLink light management system and equipped with sensors for presence and

daylight detection, ensuring optimal energy efficiency. The decision to use Trilux’s lighting

products in the Marseille Docks was influenced by their successful performance in another dock building. “The objective was to create optimal

conditions and an attractive atmosphere for future tenants through high-quality and energy-efficient lighting. Mission accomplished,” says Cyril Tosello, sales manager Trilux France. ▄ www.trilux.com

Illuminating Arthur Stanley House

with cutting edge light solution Arthur Stanley House (ASH) in Fitzrovia, London, has been transformed with an advanced lighting solution provided by ZUMTOBEL and Thorn lighting brands. The 52,000ft2 office block was refurbished and extended, and the lighting system was designed to deliver flexibility, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Zumtobel’s Tecton C was selected for its slim profile and plug-and-play functionality, offering flexibility for non-uniform floor plates. The lighting system met UGR requirements by using the Tecton C Wide Beam to address the higher reflectance of the floor. Other Zumtobel products used include Slotlight infinity, Tubilux Slim, Perluce, Lincor, Ondaria, Vivo and Panos infinity pendants. Thorn’s Aquaforce Pro, ForceLED and Glacier LED luminaires

London airport reduces energy and

costs with lighting upgrade new lighting solution provides consistent and improved illumination, ensuring safety and comfort for both pedestrians and drivers. Gatwick Airport’s electrical LV manager Steve Wadd comments: “Early in 2023, we’d already opened conversations with Thorn about car park lighting, but we were then invited to participate in a webinar session hosted by the Parking Network in collaboration with Thorn. We were impressed by Thorn’s knowledge and expertise in indoor and outdoor lighting and knew we could rely on them to find a car park lighting solution that would fully support our ambitions for the future, aligned with our ‘Decade of Change’ strategy. Aquaforce Pro has so far met our expectations as being a durable option for the multi-storey car parks.” ▄ www.thornlighting.com

THORN LIGHTING has assisted London Gatwick Airport in its journey to achieve net zero emissions. As part of this effort, the airport upgraded its lighting infrastructure to improve energy efficiency. In 2017, the runway lighting was

switched to LED, resulting in a 50% increase in energy efficiency compared to the previous halogen lights. Then in 2023, Thorn further upgraded the lighting in multi-storey car parks 1, 2, 3, and 5, as well as surrounding walkways and other areas of the airport. The main car parks now feature

Thorn’s Aquaforce Pro luminaires, which are water, dust, and dirt resistant, and are housed in a tough and shock-resistant body. The installation also includes basicDIM wireless controls to enhance energy-saving potential. The previous lighting showed areas of failure, creating different colour temperatures, but the

for wellbeing The MET Building, a 12-story office space in London’s Fitzrovia district, has undergone a comprehensive renovation that includes the latest lighting and facilities management technology from TRIDONIC. The company's sceneCOM Evo system was chosen to meet the client’s requirements for customisable spaces. The system incorporates DALI control with DALI 2 sensors and input devices, as well as DALI emergency monitoring. It also integrates tuneable white lighting and circadian rhythm features for open-plan areas situated more than 8m from windows, including daylight dimming and water solenoid valve control. The sceneCOM Evo controls a range of lighting fixtures and inputs, including 5,700 DALI addresses for lighting and emergency lighting, 1,100 DALI DT8 and DALI DT6 luminaires with tuneable white LEDs, 880 DALI 2 PIRs, and 67 DALI 2 switch inputs. The system also enables extensive data collection and facilitates

Reynolds, which consulted on the project says: “Our objective for the lighting in Arthur Stanley House was to achieve a modern and efficient office lighting installation. We wanted to create an environment that promotes productivity and enhances the overall aesthetic appeal. The Tecton luminaires, fixed to the soffit, perfectly achieved our target. Their innovative design and performance capabilities ensured a high quality lighting installation that met our expectations. " ▄ www.zumtobel.com

predictive maintenance. Dan Bamforth, Tridonic's controls and

solutions manager, says: “Our sceneCOM Evo-DALI control and DALI emergency monitoring were ideal to create easy configuration of spaces. The sceneCOM device features DALI 2 compatibility, allowing for easy networking of a number of other outputs. The sceneCOM Evo also allows for custom white lighting profiles that adjust the colour temperature throughout the day automatically. This mimics natural daylight, matching the circadian rhythm of occupants to enhance their wellbeing.” ▄ www.tridonic.com
