Andre Bachmann, Sigma
Andre Bachmann has joined the management team of Sigma-Elektro GmbH. In his new position as managing
director, he will be responsible for sales and marketing as well as commercial issues. Following his appointment, Bachmann said: “Sigma is well known for most cycling enthusiasts and so it is for me. I bought my first road bike with a Sigma computer in 2000 and have been using Sigma products ever since. “I am very happy to be a part of
the team and to continue writing the successful history of Sigma.” Bachmann has extensive experience in both the sports and bicycle industry. As the long-standing managing
director of New Wave GmbH, the 54-year-old takes with him knowledge of strategic business development, marketing and sales.
Bachmann was mainly responsible for the Craft brand and was in charge of German sales and the brand’s strategy in various working groups.
Stefano Melis, Thok
Thok e-bikes, the Italian e-mtb brand, has hired Stefano Melis as the company’s new area manager, dedicated to the UK market. The 40-year-old arrives from Gocycle
where he was a sales manager for Italy, the Benelux region and Scandinavia. Melis will be responsible for growing the brand’s retailer network in the UK, where Thok has already been active for the past two and a half years with its products available in a dozen stores. Thok had previously been distributed on these shores by Windwave until earlier this year, but is now handling its own distribution in-house, along with sales and channel strategies in addition to overseeing a large expansion into new markets.
Lord joined TfL in November 2019 as managing director of London Underground and became COO for all of TfL’s operations in 2022. The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the Board of Transport for London (TfL) has announced the appointment of Andy Lord as London’s permanent transport commissioner.

on attracting customers to public transport, rebuilding TfL’s finances, advancing TfL’s work to decarbonise and improve London’s environment, and developing plans to further support TfL’s diverse staff and customers. Lord has overseen the completion of the Elizabeth line railway, the completion of the Bank station upgrade, the development of the plans for new bus provision in outer London, and the delivery of new cycleways Before TfL, Lord spent nearly 30 years in the commercial aviation sector, including 26 years at British Airways. He is also a non-executive director for the UK MoD’s defence equipment and support agency.
