The Consumer Electronics Show seems to become less aligned with games with each passing year, which considering it almost predates them (the first CES was in 1967) is probably to be expected. Nevertheless, this year’s Las Vegas event did have a few highlights for the game-aware to tune into, not least the reveal of the Vive XR Elite VR headset (due later this month), which looks to combine the brute force specs that Vive is known for with the portability of Meta’s Oculus Quest 2. Also given an airing (away from Nvidia and AMD’s new GPUs) was the AromaPlayer, which will let content creators add smells to their videos. Maybe we should get one up on this emerging technology by introducing scratch and sniff pages to the next issue? ... and they say print is dead.
