Feature: Connectors

Not all applications can use ready-

made cables, however. Some are in hard-to-reach locations, whilst others require repairs and maintenance to be carried out on a machine already in use. For these cases, the M12 Power family offers field-wired solutions. Using screw- clamp connections, they can be installed in the field with common hand tools, simplifying maintenance for personnel who must repair or reroute cables in-situ.

Panel-mount options In addition to cable connectors, the Binder M12 Power family also includes

a complete range of panel-mount connectors, used for bulkhead- mounting applications. They are available in wired and printed-circuit- board (dip-solder) versions, and offer the same environmental protection as the cable-mount types. The panel- mounting solutions are ideal for providing power to the machines and equipment on the factory floor. The M12 Power family also features a

range of control cabinet feed-throughs. These are panel-mount, double-ended connectors that enable easy mating of cables from modules in the control

cabinet to equipment in the field. They are available in the same range of coding options as the conventional connectors, adding a great deal of flexibility to the installation. While the M12 Power family

offers a range of options and contact arrangements, some applications require a mix of small-signal connections with the robustness of power contacts. Drawing on its extensive expertise in

providing customised solutions, Binder can customise its M12 connectors, to combe different contact types for a specific need.
