Scaleable software Technological advances require agility, which means the respective soſtware components must adapt to new circumstances flexibly. For a high degree of scaleability, our generative tool chain uses a CAD platform and a data model with no size restrictions. We have worked closely with CAD designer Dassault Systèmes to achieve this. Solutions are therefore directly integrated into the CATIA (Computer Aided Tree-Dimensional Interactive Application) development environment commonly used in this sector, instead of cumbersome imports via external interfaces. Another helpful tool is the specially-designed Engineering


Knowledge Base, which serves as the foundation for automating validation and testing in the design process. Te patented process provides engineering know-how, such that algorithms can make decisions based on it. Tus, SmartCable emulates the procedure applied by an experienced designer, eliminating many manual steps and significantly shortening overall development time.

ABOUT SMARTCABLE


SmartCable was founded in 2011 in Erlangen, Germany. The company creates model-based, intelligent IT solutions for the cable harness development process across all domains, from architectural design to manufacturing.


SmartCable is a member of the association ProSTEP iViP and contributes to the development of standard exchange systems (KBL, VEC) as part of the respective work groups. As a CAA partner of Dassault Systèmes, SmartCable’s software solutions directly access the CATIA data model. Its SmartCable tools provide engineering know-how, such that algorithms can make decisions based on it.


The company is currently working on an autonomous driving research project – a robot taxi.
