Event: Engineering Design Show 2023 Push-X, the new X-perience of wiring
Will I need to modify my printed circuit board (PCB) footprint to accept a new header? Te XPC PCB connector is compatible with Phoenix Contact’s extensive COMBICON range with 3.5 mm pitch. Te XPC can therefore be combined with existing horizontal and vertical header versions. Tese are available for reflow and wave soldering processes. So it is easy to switch between connectors with different connection technologies. As a result, the convenient connection technology of XPC can be used as a direct alternative in many areas of application.
W
ith the new Push-X technology, Phoenix Contact makes the connection technology for PCB connectors a real experience: direct, tool-free, secure and
automation-capable. Tanks to compatibility with Phoenix Contact’s proven headers, XPC now provides an extremely fast alternative connection solution. Te stripped conductor is inserted directly into the open terminal point. An acoustic signal provides confirmation to the user that the connection is secure. Te innovative Push-X technology also provides a very high level
of reliability and user-friendliness due to the fact that the clamping chamber is in the open state when delivered. Demanding test procedures have also ensured that the connectors remain ready for direct connection even in the case of severe impacts.
How can I be certain the wire is secure? Secure connections of consistently reliable quality are created by means of the sophisticated Push-X technology in combination with the contact spring that is pretensioned in the delivery state. Tis connection technology uses acoustic and visual signals as feedback to indicate whether the contact spring was released successfully. In addition to the audible sound of the contact spring being triggered, the operating state of the connector can be determined by the high- contrast position of the orange release button. Te current status of the connection technology can therefore easily be seen. Te XPC PCB connector provides clear acoustic and visual feedback regarding the operating state. Te connection technology thereby ensures reliable, long-lasting conductor contact.
Is it easy to remove wires once connected? Having been quickly and directly connected inside the XPC connector, the conductor can be released again just as easily. When the orange release button is pressed, the conductor is released and, at the same time, the contact spring is pretensioned again and locked in the trigger position. Te connection technology is ready again and the next connection can be triggered.

Phoenix Contact For 100 years, Phoenix Contact has been working with customers and partners to develop innovative products and solutions that get things connected. In doing this, we are opening up value-adding processes all over the world and empowering a future worth living for everyone. We can do this because we connect people and technologies. It is our conviction that innovation can only succeed by connecting
the right people at the right time. So that many persons become one team. So that ideas mature into innovations.
The All Electric Society Te All Electric Society vision of the future describes a world in which energy from renewable resources is available in sufficient quantities and at affordable prices. In addition to the consistent generation and use of renewable energy, reducing the demand for primary energy through efficiency measures and creating intelligent and networked systems are the keys to a sustainable future. To be able to base renewable energy use on demand, solutions
and technologies for electrification, networking, and automation for realising sector coupling are needed.
