Preparing for the popularity of prediction markets
support real-time, event-based trading models similar to those used by fi nancial platforms that host prediction markets. In other words, the technology is already there – ready to power the next generation of prediction-based products.
MODULAR PLATFORM ARCHITECTURE
With predictions markets’ established links to crypto, the fact we’re viewed as a true web3- native platform is also a big advantage for us. Having built our multi-wallet architecture from the ground up to enable the seamless conversion and exchange of all fi at and crypto currencies, we already have the infrastructure in place to support operators looking to break into the predictions space.
Having rightfully identifi ed predictions markets as one of the betting industry’s fastest emerging trends, we spoke to Jonathan Gauci – CEO and Co-founder of pioneering platform solutions provider, Elantil – about how his company’s modular architecture and crypto-friendly approach has it perfectly positioned to help

t seems these days, you can’t open an iGaming news portal without reading about the hot-button topic of predictions markets. From U.S. prediction market provider Kalshi’s big plans to take its operations global, to state regulators’ ongoing efforts to defi ne the emerging trading vertical as a new form of online gambling, at the moment it’s everywhere you look – and for good reason too.
When I spoke at a panel at NEXT New York six months ago, I already outlined the impact I thought predictions markets could have on our industry and how Elantil was taking steps to stay ahead of the curve. For operators who missed that conversation and are still in the dark about what this could mean, I’d like to take a moment to explain what predictions markets are and how they work.
HOW PREDICTIONS MARKETS WORK
Textually, predictions markets allow people to trade contracts on the probability of future events – most commonly those in the political or fi nancial sphere – with the price being set by market confi dence. In short for those have been around in the iGaming industry for a while. A betting exchange with user-base-backed fi nancial liability. As things stand, predictions markets are operated on ‘fi nancial’ platforms,

meaning they’re regulated at a federal level in the U.S. and exist outside the remits of the gaming industry.
Widely viewed as one of the top crypto use cases in online trading, predictions markets provide a great way for operators to add an answer to alternative forms of entertainment like tiktok and insta, the true competition to the industry at the moment, allowing users to predict the outcome of international events such as the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize no matter where in the world they’re located.
At Elantil, we view predictions markets not just as a trend, but as a natural extension of what we do best – innovating with money movement at our core. Our platform is already designed to
Tying it together, Elantil’s modular, non- opinionated platform architecture empowers innovators to grow without limit. Our foundational toolset provides a stage for operators to explore creative use cases that are limited only by their imagination, so whether it’s forecasting, hedging or creating totally new predictive tools, we give them the ability to build predictions markets their way.
As Kalshi summarised in its most recent
fi nancial outlook: “predictions markets have always had worldwide relevance,” – and this is clearly a sentiment that’s being shared by investors. Just the other week, Allwyn, operator of the UK National Lottery, confi rmed its acquisition of PrizePicks just before the fi rm secured a regulatory listing that could see it enter the U.S. predictions space.
If this is any indicator of what we can expect in the coming months, the writing is already on the wall for the future of predictions markets and the supporting role they could play in iGaming. For operators looking to get up and running before the real wave of momentum hits, working with a partner like Elantil, who’s built to support future developments in the sector, is an obvious choice.
