SIGMA EUROPE PREVIEW

SiGMA Central Europe 2025: Rome gears up for the biggest event yet

SiGMA is making history this year with the much-anticipated launch of SiGMA Central Europe in Rome. Taking place from 3–6 November, the show marks the first time the gaming and tech summit lands in the Italian capital and is expected to welcome 30,000 international delegates. As the nineteenth-century poet Robert Browning once said, “Everyone sooner or later comes round by Rome.”

K

nown as the Eternal City, a moniker that signifies its long-lasting importance as a centre for innovation and

entrepreneurship, Rome offers the perfect backdrop for an event that celebrates sustainable, responsible industry growth. Rome’s appeal lies not only in its beauty and history but also in its connectivity and accessibility. The city is very easily reached from major international hubs, with its two major airports - Fiumicino and Ciampino - situated just eight minutes from Fiera Roma. For a global audience, these connections make Rome a natural choice.

INSIDE THE FIERA ROMA The Fiera Roma expo centre is one of Europe’s largest, offering expansive space to host 1,200 exhibitors across eight impressive halls. Within its modern architecture, delegates can also explore VIP lounges, a bustling startup village, and a media zone.

The expo floor will come alive with four dedicated stages, hosting over 550 expert speakers and thought leaders from across the gaming, tech, and affiliate landscapes. President of the European Commission, Roberta Metsola is set to deliver an opening keynote on 4 November, followed by an address by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani.

Attendees can expect in-depth sessions at the SiGMA Regulatory Briefing Stage, Affiliate Leaders Stage, and People, Partners & Performance Stage, while the AIBC Stage will shine a spotlight on emerging technologies shaping the future of digital innovation. A line up of top tier speakers includes names such as, Maarten Haijer, Secretary-General of the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), who will talk about compliance and market growth in the panel titled ‘Voices of Authority: Inside Europe’s Regulatory Roundtable’ on day one of the conference. Hon. Federico Freni, Undersecretary at Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, will address taxation, fiscal oversight, and regulatory measures that support responsible gaming.

Sessions dedicated to regulation will feature speakers such as Prof. Pieris Chourides, President

of the Cyprus Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission and Panagiotis Trisokkas, President of the Cyprus National Betting Authority. Alexsandar Popov, Director at the Directorate of Supervision of Gambling and Gambling Activities from Bulgaria, and Jānis Ungur, Director of the Legal Department, Lotteries and Gambling Supervisory Inspectorate from Latvia, will also be part of the ‘Voices of Authority: Inside Europe’s Regulatory Roundtable’ panel. Their discussions will focus on licensing, supervision, and collaborative approaches to maintaining safe, transparent, and trusted markets across Europe. Additionally UFC legend Kamaru Usman will be conducting a fireside chat, ‘Championship DNA: Competing in Life & Business’, where he shares how discipline, resilience, and leadership drive success in both sport and business.

NETWORKING HIGHLIGHTS At SiGMA, business and pleasure go hand in hand. The event’s networking calendar is designed to balance professional growth with memorable experiences that capture the spirit of Rome. Attendees can look forward to exclusive dinners, including a private concert with opera legend Plácido Domingo and South African soprano Pretty Yende, wine tastings in Rome’s oldest vineyards, and two prestigious SiGMA Award evenings, celebrating excellence across the industry.

The Summit also comes to a close with an official celebration featuring melodic master Stephan Bodzin. Each event is curated with precision, ensuring the right mix of delegates for meaningful and lasting connections. Whether closing a deal over fine Italian wine or exchanging insights in a historic Roman villa, SiGMA’s approach to networking goes far beyond the traditional expo experience, creating genuine, lasting relationships.
