Shopfloor TAKE A TOWN Hampshire 36

Audio-T, Hursley Road, Chandlers Ford For this issue, ERT’s team of mystery shoppers assess

stores across Hampshire, which consisted of visits in Chandlers Ford, Romsey and Southampton.

This store is located at one end of a small parade of shops that also includes a café and a beauty salon. I was looking to put some kind of music system for my home office – following an increase in working from home. Inside the store, I was greeted by Wayne, the Manager. I explained that I was looking to utilise my

Sonos system, but I also wanted a CD player, and would need a pair of speakers too. Wayne got straight to work, and his first

product suggestion was the Sonos Amp, which was priced at £699. He explained that this would enable me to link to the existing Sonos

network in my home, and I would also be able to plug a CD player into it. For the CD player, Wayne recommended a Rotel model (CD11 Tribute), which was priced at £349. For the speakers, Wayne suggested a pair of

DALI speakers (Spektor 1), which were priced at £219.To complete the package, Wayne said I’d need speaker cable and said four metres of Roni 79 Strand cable would cost £10. Wayne worked on a quote and reduced the price of the CD player to £300, from a usual price of £549, and said he could drop the price of the speakers to £199.

WINNING MULTIPLE

Sales skills: 5/5

Store presentation: 5/5

Total score: 10/10

Wayne was able to mention all elements seamlessly, and his quote was an attempt to close the sale. The store was well presented.
